The next thing I knew I was holding Bailey in my arms.

"You totally kicked there ARSES!" She exclaimed.

"What?" I asked.

"I didn't know you took self defense lessons!" She exclaimed. Her voice a little hoarse.

"I didn't do anything. I just blacked out," I told her.

"What. Ever. You went all karate kid on those freaks!" She exclaimed.

I furrowed my eyebrows because I didn't understand anything.

"You honestly don't remember? You went all Buffy the Vampire Slayer on them!" She said.

I laughed at that.

"Sorry I didn't listen to you. I'm too trusting. Just go ahead and say I told you so," she groaned.

"We need to get you home," I said.

I paused.

"And I told you so," I smirked.

•••••••••••••••••

"So you can see the future?" Bailey asked.

"I think. It's been happening for a while," I replied.

"I'm sorry I didn't believe you about those guys," she whispered.

"Don't worry about it," I said.

She began crying and leaned into my shoulders.

"Don't cry," I said.

"It hurts," she whispered into my neck.

"I know it does-" I began.

"No. Not my emotions. My neck. It hurts."

I tilted her head off my shoulder and looked at where she said it hurt.

There were two holes in her neck with blood smudged around the wounds.

"Oh my God."

"One of them bit you," I gasped.

"I know...and then Jackson bit into his wrist and poured blood into the wounds," she said.

"Bailey..." I whispered on the verge of tears.

"What?" Bailey said while new tears stained her face.

"They turned you."

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

"Do I have to drink blood?"

"Yes."

"Do I have to...kill?"

"Yes."

"Will I change into a different person?"

"That is up to you."

I was outside Bailey's bedroom door listening to Bailey's and Josh's conversation. I felt so many gut wrenching emotions all at once. The soul squeezing pain of guilt, the heart shattering pain of heart break. The fact that I felt completely useless in a time as frantic and frightening as this made me sick to my stomach.

I burst into the room.

"Can you reverse it? Can you make it go away?" I asked.

"Why would I purposely turn her just to rewind the effects and make her human again? Jackson turned her for a reason." Josh said firmly.

"And that reason happens to be?" I asked.

"None of your concern," he said sternly.

Bailey's face was soft and unreadable. I think she is afraid of what she will become.

"What do you want?" I asked raising my voice a little.

"It's not what I want," he said with a glint in his eyes.

"What does Jackson want?" I said his name with bitterness. Josh smirked.

"You."

And with that he ran to the window at super human speed, threw it open, and leapt out in the mid-winter chill.
