A girl with hair as black as night
Eyes green and brown that caught in the light
Was born in the late Spring
She jumped and played
Only slept when the Sun's eyes shut
And the Moon's opened
The flowers danced with her in an ancient dance
Trees stared at the young girl and waited for their chance
While when she smiled the rest of the world stopped intranced
Then the leaves started to change their shade
Green to red to brown
And slowly fell to the ground
Other children stomped on the fallen leaves
Enjoying the satisfying crunch
And the little girl with eyes of brown and green
Knew it was almost time to bid goodbye
When the trees were bare
The girl disappeared into the air
Without so much as a tear
For to see her sad was oh so very rare
And when the flowers sprang from the ground and began to dance
The Sun opened its eyes
Trees bared their leaves again
Born in the late spring
With eyes of brown and green that caught in the light
Was a girl with hair that rivaled the night.
