"It is impossible to do without that madam", Dr. Arjun argued with Yavanika.
"There has to be another way Doctor", Yavanika expressed her views.
"No Mam. Without the parent's DNA sample, I cannot confirm whether that dead woman is Sathya or not."
"Her parents died in a car crash", Yavanika said in a lower voice. She doesn't know what else to say.
It felt like all the doors are locked suddenly. She still believes that the missing dead body at the hospital has to do something with the death of Sathya. But she doesn't know how to prove that.
Sometimes miracles do happen without our knowledge.
Yavanika's cell phone rang. She took her mobile and saw the display. It was Roopa. She excused herself and came out of doctor's room.
"Yes Roopa. Tell me."
"Mam There is someone called Ajay is waiting here for you"
"Who is that Roopa?"
"He is Sathya's brother."
"Oh Okay. I will be there in ten minutes."
Yavanika left the hospital and reached her office. Ajay was waiting in her room.
"I am so sorry for your loss Mr. Ajay", Yavanika lowered her voice.
Ajay was in his mid-30. Little pale. His accent said that he was in America for more than ten years.
Yavanika explained the case so far and expressed her confusion over Sathya's death.
"The doctor said that it is impossible to conduct a DNA test without her parent's sample blood or anything. I mean your parents."
Ajay was silent for a few seconds and started talking.
"I think I can help you with that", Ajay said with a confidence.
"How can you help Mr. Ajay?
Ajay opened his bag and took a box. He opened that box. It looked like a mini freezer. Both Yavanika and Roopa were shocked.
"WHAT IS THIS AJAY?" Yavanika said in a loud voice.
"Relax madam. There is nothing to get panic or angry. It is my father's Ring finger."
"WHY DO YOU HAVE THAT"? This time it's Roopa.
"My father believes in lucky stones. He often tells me that because of this stone only I got a job in US. At first I didn't believe. But lot of things happened. I got promoted, I got married there. I am a green card holder now. Then I believed my father."
Yavanika and Roopa were still stunned.
Ajay continued, "I told my father that I want his ring. He told me that it will never happen till he dies. He told that sarcastically. He also told me that he will give that ring to me when I see him next time. But unfortunately he died."
"SO YOU CUT HIS FINGER?" Yavanika was angry.
Ajay replied "Yes!"
Yavanika wanted to slap him but she controlled herself since his stupid belief about lucky stones might help in solving this case. It might be the door she wanted to open.
"I didn't do anything wrong mam. I tried to remove that ring. But I couldn't. So I consulted with the doctor and they gave this to me. I have proper documents too if you want to check."
Yavanika didn't listen to any of that.
She immediately called Dr. Arjun and explained everything. The doctor asked to send that finger to his lab. He assured Yavanika that he will give the report by the end of the day.
At 8:00 PM, the report came from the lab.
Yavanika read that report carefully.
At the end of the report she noticed that sentence.
"The DNA of the dead woman (presumed to be Ms. Sathya) did not match with the DNA sample collected from the finger. Therefore I hereby confirm that the dead woman at the apartment is not SATHYA!"
