                                                                                Chapter 1:

Mikayla's POV:

"You ready?" my mom asked me as she sat down across from me at the breakfast table. "You're starting at the Abby Lee Dance Company today."

I looked up at her from my eggs and toast.

"Yeah, I'm ready. I've been ready ever since I came to Pittsburgh!" I exclaimed.

I was excited. Really excited today. I was starting at the Abby Lee Miller Dance Company today. I had been dancing ever since I was four. I'm twelve now. So that's eight years.

I used to live in Baltimore and dance at a studio called Studio One. It's only second compared to the Abby Lee Dance Company. And then I moved to Pittsburgh and I couldn't wait to join ALDC which had a really good reputation.

"Come on honey, let's go now." my mom told me.

I grabbed my dance bag and ran to the car. Oh boy! I couldn't wait!

We arrived in about 20 minutes. I jumped out and ran with my mom behind me to the door.

Gianna, a dance choreographer was sitting at the desk and a woman, probably Abby, was next to her chatting.

"Well, hello! You must be Mikayla!" Abby anounced, smiling at me.

"Hello, I'm Bethany, Mikayla's mom." my mom and Abby shook hands.

"Nice to meet you. We'll be starting class in 10 minutes. Let's introduce you to our amazing girls here at the Abby Lee Dance Company." Abby beamed and showed me to a room.

There were 7 girls there and they were staring at me especially a girl with large blue eyes and mousy brown hair.

"Hello." they chirped at me.

"This is Mikayla Dorstone. Mikayla, this is Kendall Vertes, Brooke Hyland, Paige Hyland, Nia Frazier, Chloe Lukasiak, Mckenzie Ziegler and Maddie Ziegler." she said. "These girls are as sweet as pie."

The girl who stared at me with those big blue eyes, is Maddie.

"Alright, we'll be starting our warm ups in about five more minutes. Say hello to your new friend!" Abby said to them and left the room.
