Prologue

Wind rushing against my dappled hair by the sun and sand between my toes. I exhale. 'This is what it's like to be in the Mediterranean,' I think to myself. My little beach hut I am now staying in is not far away from here. My mum should be asleep still, she is not an early riser. This gives me time to myself. I scan the beach I'm standing on, not many people are hear yet as it is early. You see I wanted to see the sunrise and at the time there was nobody there apart from one person, a boy. He looks about my age. Maybe a little older, eighteen maybe. His perfect features and his original sense of style make him seem much younger...

This boy well. He is pretty average height, but his features. Don't get me started on his features. Pale pale blonde hair with darker roots and stunning sea green eyes, what more could a girl want? He was wearing a pair of grey and green patterned trunks with a vest hastily slung on top. To cover a dreamy six pack to match the rippling muscles on his arms and legs. He was running, no jogging down the beach at the time I noticed him and as he ran past I noticed a single black stud earring and a shark tooth necklace. Instinctively I looked down at the locket around my own neck and my hands fiddle with the clasp until it pops open and reveals a slightly battered piece of rolled paper which reads:

Mia, my little baby. I know later in life the pain will sink in that you will have to live without me. But it gets better eventually and please understand that I had no choice and that I will always love you my little angel. Hope to see you someday. Your loving father x

Tears stream down my cheeks as I read the note, no matter how many times I've read it. It always brings tears to my eyes- good thing I didn't bother with make up this morning. The boy is a little further up the beach now but I bring up the courage to go up and talk to him. Not much, I will just ask his name and maybe a few simple details, nothing too intrusive.  Even though I try and play it cool I still manage to stumble somehow. When I look up I notice he is looking at me now and is laughing. That is when I notice the hypnotising dimples that he has.

Quite a short prologue but if you like it, vote and comment and tell me if you would like me to write more...

Oh and people who know me will be rolling there eyes at the predictable style of book and the predictable name choice of Mia (which may or may not be named after my beautiful little Shmoo baby) if you don't know  Shmoo baby, she is my cat.
