Chapter 24: With Ryan
Lynsey’s POV:
My eyes fluttered open and I was taken back to feel someone’s arms wrapped around me and my head resting on their chest. I slowly looked up to see this person’s face and when I saw it was Ryan, I remembered what had happened last night. I pushed my face back down to his chest and inhaled his scent, closing my eyes to the comforting smell. But then I started to think about the dream I had had. It was so terrible. A few tears rolled down from my eyes as I thought about all the blood and the dark night, and the sounds of the sirens coming nearer as they pounded through my head. It was terrifying to see. I thought about when I had knelt down in the blood because I didn’t care if it got on me. I remember seeing the red stains in his dark hair and on his grey shirt. Images of the dream flew through my mind and I guess I started to weep louder because I felt Ryan’s strong arms enclose on me tighter.
I blinked out of my thoughts and wiped the tears off my cheeks. I tried to move myself away from Ryan, which was fairly hard.
“Where are you going?” Ryan’s deep, husky morning voice asked. This making my stop dead in my spot from trying to pull away.
“I… uh… well I...” I rambled, not being able to process my thoughts from my still ongoing fangirl attack.
“Stay here.” he stated simply, “I don’t want to get up yet.”
His arms tightened around me again as he pulled me closer to him. I smiled, snuggling into him, but then remembered why I was getting up. “I need to take a shower, Alex is coming over at two after her swim practice.”
With that Ryan’s arms shot off of me and he turned to check the time, body tensed. And yes I was gaping at his flexed back muscles, if you must know. His muscles relaxed as he turned to his back and sat up. I looked over at the time 6:30. Ew.
“Practice doesn’t start until eight forty-five so I’m good.” he said rubbing his eyes.
I sat up myself and looked over at him. He looked over at me, “Breakfast anyone?” he smiled his perfect ten smile and I nodded. Breakfast sounded good.
He leaned towards me and kissed my nose before he got up and left the doorway. I, of course, giggled like the little girl I am and fell back onto the bed.
After my giggling fit was over I sat back up to go out and help or brush my teeth, or do anything productive. I looked over at the edge of the bed, no wheelchair. I debated on if I should just try and stand up and walk out to find my wheelchair, but Ryan would be pissed at me if I did, and so would Shawn. Shawn? I wonder where he is? I tried to think of ways to get out of bed and out the door as I looked around the dimly lit room. I saw the wheely desk chair on the other side of the room and rolled to the still warm side of the bed where Ryan had previously laid to be closer. How do I get it though, I can’t walk to it, it’s too far to reach… but I can… YES! I grabbed the light blue sheet off of the bed and grabbed onto both ends so it was long. I looked over at the desk chair and narrowed my eyes to it. You will be mine. Mwahahahaha Oh god… I needed caffeine. I threw one end of the sheet to the chair, hoping to land it on the part where your butt sits. I missed, by a lot… Yay! Aim! I recoiled it and tried a couple more times. After a number of failed tries, I finally got it over to the side of the bed and placed myself into the computer chair “gracefully”. Okay, so it wasn’t graceful at all…I tried to get on but over judged my distance and landed on the floor. I somehow got myself back up on the chair and wheeled myself out the door to the the living room. There was my wheelchair. I scooted over to it and was just about to transfer chairs when I heard footsteps. I sealed my eyes shut, making myself ‘invisible’ as the footsteps stopped. I am invisible. You cannot see me. I am invisible.
