The clouds overlapped the city, drowning it in its shadows. In those shadows, strong and icy winds yonder. He shivered at the icy touch of the cold breeze against his skin. The sound of his boots pressing against the trail of snow at every step he took echoed throughout the street. It was the only sound he could hear. With no scarf to cover his bare neck, he silently looked up. Snowflakes were falling from the sky, drifting further away with the wind. He felt lost. His walk to the café where you both usually escape to was never this freezing. It had always felt so warm whenever you were around— accompanied by your delightful personality, but this time it was as cold as ice. Distracted, he stood there. Still.

"Taehyung-ah. Cut it out and just have fun with me, alright?"

His eyes widened at the sound of your voice. Frantically searching for you, you were nowhere to be seen. Yet, the sound of your giggling still rung in his ears.

"Tae."

You suddenly appeared by his side with a faint smile on your face, wrapping your arm around his. He tensed at the sense of your touch, but there was no warmth. Taehyung's heart started to pound quickly that he could hear it ringing in his ears. He couldn't stop staring at you, wondering if you were real or not. Shaking the thought out of his head, he continued to walk down the pathway to ignore these images of you. However, you were by Taehyung's side once again, walking along side him. Sensing your presence, his eyes quivered and his heart began to beat uncontrollably. Quickening his pace to rid of you, he then ran with all his might in hopes that these illusions of you would go away.

He barged into the café, panting. Catching his breath, he effortlessly carried on with his daily life though the thought of you still lingered in his mind. "The usual for two?" the waitress asked at the counter. Taehyung was taken aback for a moment and corrected her. "Just me."

"Where's your girl?" she curiously questioned him, but only silence filled the air between them. The lady nodded and brought him his usual order. Taehyung was reminded of how the both of you always laughed in this very café and act childish together. When the store was about to close one day, the staff lended a key to the roof to you both since you were their most favourite customer. The memorable nights you spent on that very roof; stargazing, cuddling and occasionally having a little picnic under the moonlight and the bright, starry sky.

His footsteps lead him to that roof once more. His steps were heavy as he made his way to your favourite spot. Taehyung placed his coffee beside him and stared at the bustling streets of the city before his eyes. Sighing, he lied down and gazed at an endless oblivion of blue and white. About to shut his eyes, your voice echoed in his mind again.

"Do you know why I like snowflakes?"

Taehyung turned his head to his left to find you sitting beside him, hugging your legs together. There he stared at you waiting for you to speak. "They're like tears. Yes, they are frozen. It shows how strong they are on the outside but inside, they are fragile. Yet, they are something so beautiful that people has to accept as part of their strength not weakness. Whether it be tears of joy or sadness, it's still a part of you."

In the past, Taehyung was always amazed at your attributes to finding good in people and those were one of the reasons he loved you so dearly. Raising his hand to block the sunlight from shining into his eyes, he noticed the bracelet that you gifted him. Taehyung slowly made out the small details of the engraved feathers as he slid his fingers over it carefully. He remembered that you had the other half of the pair of wings. Unknowingly, a small smile appeared across his face.

"Taehyung-ah. Sorry. I'm the one at fault. I should have never interfered with your life."

By the sudden sound of your desperation, he turned around to find you crying at the door. Startled, he began to make his way to you.. to comfort you. Though panic can be seen through his eyes. "Stop! It's my fault that you're like this! It's my fault that..."

You paused in the middle of your sentence as more tears rolled down your hot, red cheeks. You were in pain that you couldn't help but scream out to him. Taehyung was about to muster up the courage to tell you the truth but you ran out. Your sudden action stimulated him to chase after you. Worried, he couldn't find you in his sight though he had to know that you were at least not injured. Then, it dawned on him. This all felt too familiar, but his main focus was to find you so he went ahead and thought up places you would run off to. Realisation hit him and there he hurriedly sprinted off.. to the abandoned train station. Taehyung did not dare to care if it was freezing, he only wanted to find you. Only you.

Misty fogs formed from his lips as he arrived at the station. He was hesitant to move another inch as if this scene was replaying all over again. Taehyung was frightened to experience that particular part of his life once again. Without hesitance, he arrived at the railroad tracks. It was as he predicted. He saw you on the opposite side of the tracks, barely moving. Taehyung was horrified at the sight which caused him to collapse on his knees, breaking down. Suddenly, a gush of wind blew his way appearing like a snow storm. Confused, there were no signs of you on the other side after it cleared. Yet, he still regretted not finding you sooner then none of this would have happened.

"Taehyung. Are you alright?"

There it was again. Your voice eased his broken heart and he lifted up his head to look at you. You were there, alive and healthy except for the fact that your skin looked pale. You weakly placed your hand on his shoulder while wrapping yourself warmly with your other arm. Taehyung slowly stood up and hugged you tightly in his arms. He noticed that your body was cold so he embraced you tighter while rubbing your back. He buried his head into your shoulder as the scent of your hair soothed him. He lets go of you and asked you in a serious tone, "Tell me. Is what I'm seeing now.. real?"

A bright smile appeared on your face as you gazed into his dark brown orbs. You felt guilty but you knew you had to let go. You were able to be by his side this whole time just for one purpose.. to guide him. "Only if you believe it to be," you replied with this instead. Confusion wore on his expression as he held onto your hands, desperate that this was real. Tears were brimming in your eyes as you reminded him, "When you miss me, you'll know where to find me."

You looked down at both of the bracelets you and Taehyung were wearing. Taehyung was at a loss for words but all he could say to you was, "I love you."

Your heart felt content at the sound of those three words. You felt happy as tears of joy started to flow down your cheeks. "I love you too and I'll miss you terribly," you replied back, being your last words. Taehyung then couldn't feel the hold of your hands as you began to fade away into snowflakes to be drifted away by the wind. "You were always an angel Y/N," Taehyung mumbled quietly with a small smile on his lips.
