Insomnia

27 9 7

Moonlight flickers
Fading away from
My sight,
Leaving behind a
Sweet yet gentle
aftertaste
As I
Roll over
My bed sheets
Twisting and twining
around my sweating body
My eyes desperate and alert
Like a wild horse
bucking its captor,
I fall in a clump
Softly to the ground
Like the autumn leaves
Outside my window
That may as well be barred,
Jailing me in,
Closing closer and closer,
My breath runs
anxious,
ragged
breaths
and push open the
frame to light,
A luxurious breeze
Tugging my hair
Gently and gradually letting me collapse
into slumber.
