FELIX

I woke up to movement and then immediately to a mattress that lifts. I open my eyes and find its still night. I'm trying to focus, but my brain isn't awake enough to distinguish reality from a dream. I stare at the silhouette of a figure and feel myself rising to a sitting position. When the figure notices me, it comes towards me.

'Sorry I must go now; I have a part time job and I need to stop at home and pick up my stuff. Go back to sleep, I'll come back tonight, I have to practice painting anyway.' his words don't make sense. He pushes me back into bed and bends down. When I feel a light kiss in my hair, I finally realize what's going on.

I grab Hyunjin's hand as he's about to leave.

'I hope you'll get back soon' At that, he leaves, and I'm left alone in the room. I don't resist looking at the clock lying on my bedside table, which shows half past five in the morning. When another moment passes and I feel my eyelids closing, I let the fatigue carry me away.

When I wake up for the second time the sun shines directly into my eyes. I have to turn the other way to open my eyes. Then I grab my phone and open Instagram and post the photos I took in the car yesterday. I don't think about it too much.

Then I decide to lie in bed all day and watch a show. It's the first time I've spent all day in bed, but I don't feel guilty at all. Tomorrow, I have to go to work anyway, where I'll spend the whole day for sure, maybe Hyunjin will come with me too. But I don't want him to be bored or anything, so I won't bring him anyway.

When evening comes, I get out of bed and go wash my face and brush my hair. I take the dishes downstairs and sit at the dining table and wait. I'm scrolling through my Instagram reals when I see an incoming phone number, it's my manager.

'Felix? Hi, I got an offer to shoot a commercial in Japan, so I accepted it and it's coming for the day after tomorrow. It's for four days, so pack your bags and I'll pick you up at three in the morning, okay?' His voice is husky, and I can't help but sigh.

'Sure, something important to pack?'

'Nothing I have everything. Your passport and your plane tickets, just make sure you don't forget. See you then.' And with that he hangs up. I slam my phone on the table and put my head in my hands. I've seriously sobbed so much at Hyunjin's company that I now find it quite impossible to spend four days without him, that's almost as long as we've known each other. I think about it for a while. I find it incredibly ridiculous. We haven't even known each other for a week, yet I can tell that Hyunjin has already become the most important person in my life in such a short time.

When he doesn't come even twenty minutes later, I decide to get busy, and I can't think of anything better than brownies, using a recipe my mom taught me.

As I'm putting the baking sheet in the oven, I hear a bell ring. I quickly take off my gloves and run to open it. Hyunjin is standing outside the doorway, surrounded by a million things.

'Hi,' I whisper, and let him in as he struggles to walk through the door, a million things in his hands. When I step back and get a good look at him, I chuckle. I've never seen him this dishevelled and just plain unkempt.

'Hi,' he smiles back at me. I look at the things he's holding and realise they're all things for painting.

'Why are you dragging all this stuff in here, my uncle would have let you borrow his,' I say, but he grins at me like I've said something disgusting, it makes me laugh.

'No, then it isn't the same at all. I like to paint with my brushes and my paints.' At that he heads into the living room, I pause at the move. Why does he look like he lives here?
