Daisy sat at Emily's counter, a smile on her face as she mixed the batter. Emily had invited her over - a little bit of one on one girl time before the pack got back from patrol.
Over the past few days, the two girls have grown quite fond of the other. Especially Emily - who knew what had happened the first time Daisy was over. Emily thought she'd never see this day come.
The day Paul Lahore finally imprinted on someone.
Everyone was happy with this fact. Especially the fast that it was Daisy - expect for the mute girl's brother. Issac, who was very protective over his sister, didn't enjoy the fact that his new pack mate had imprinted on his sister.
In fact, he completely banned the idea. Rumors got around fast in small towns so Issac knew all about Paul's apparent womanizing ways. And he wasn't about to have his sister fall victim to the cocky wolf.
But they all knew, deep down even Issac knew, that the imprint bond was simply irresistible. Even if Daisy rejected Paul, similar to how Emily turned down Sam, she would eventually come around to the idea. Just like Emily had.
"The boys should be here soon," Emily said as Daisy placed the sheet of muffins into the oven. The girl closed it, nodding her head as she took the mitt off her hand.
Joy to the world, Daisy wrote once her hand was free. She hated to admit it but she was excited to see the boys. When she first met them, she thought they were annoying. But as the day went on, she realized how much she adored every one of them.
But one certain wolf brought Daisy something she'd never think she would get to experience again. Paul, the supposed bad boy of the pack, seemed to catch the mute's eyes. He intrigued her - she wanted to know everything and anything about him. Daisy didn't know why she wanted this so badly, she had only 'spoke' to Paul with the rest of the pack. There had never been any one on one action between the two.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Emily asked the now quiet girl, leaning her forearms against the counter. Emily knew what the thoughtful look on Daisy's face meant - at one point it had been on her own face. She was thinking about Paul.
Daisy shrugs her shoulders, sighing in defeat.
"Cmon, D!" Emily pouted, pleading Daisy to tell her what was going through her mind. "I may be in my twenties but I can still gossip!"
It's Paul. He's stuck on my mind and I can't get him out of it. Is that bad? I've only met him like twice. Maybe three times. Daisy wrote, letting out another defeated sigh.
"It's not bad at all!" Emily rushed. "It's good, actually, because I think he's the same way. Sam says that Paul doesn't stop thinking about it - apparently it infuriates Issac."
A small smile creeps onto Daisy's face at Emily's words. Did Paul really think about her?
"The smile on your face leads me to believe that you have a crush on the infamous Paul Lahote," Emily concludes, squealing.
"What about the infamous Paul Lahote," a deep voice says from the doorway, startling both Daisy and Emily. The two turn to see Sam leaning against the doorframe with the rest of the pack standing behind him.
Emily laughs and Daisy blushes, quickly turning her back to the intruders. She takes a paper towel, erasing all evidence of hers and Emily's conversation about the certain wolf.
Daisy turns back around, her eyes quickly finding those who belong to the man that's captured her every little thought. His smile is gentle - unlike the smirk that she's told laid permanent on his face.
"Oh," Sam says, his eyes glancing back and forth between his omega and the mute. He knew Paul would one day find the girl that brought him to his knees and he couldn't think of anyone better than Daisy to be that girl.
