Meant to Be

The Get Together

****September 2016****
**Jennifer's Point of View**

It's been about ten months since we all saw each other. I've been thinking about this for a while now. The Hunger Games cast should have a get together.
Although we don't work together anymore, it doesn't mean we can't see each other. We can spend time together and hang out as friends. And besides it's been a long time since I talked to everyone, it'll be a great way to catch up with everything!

Seems like a good idea.

Nobody seems to be working on any big projects at the moment and besides I just finished shooting Passengers, and I need a break.
The party...no I shouldn't call it a party, just a gathering or a get together.
It will be small.
Hopefully everyone is near California. I am currently in my Beverly Hills home, so they shouldn't be far away.

It is evening when I decide to grab my phone and text a few people and see if they would be interested. It's Monday, so I'll plan the gathering for Saturday.
I message most of the cast and get replies within the next hour.
Then, I find Liam's name.
It's been so long since we talked. Actually, we haven't talked at all. The last time we talked was a month after the last movie. We became great friends and got really close during the last few years. But I know he is busy. He is in a relationship again, with Miley Cyrus. Which shouldn't bother me at all, but for some reason, it does.
I take a deep breath and think of something to say to him. Maybe I should just call him. What would I say? That I want you to leave your girlfriend and come here for a while? No. I'll just send him a message.

It turns out that the get together will be smaller than I thought, but still quite fun.
Elizabeth, Woody, Natalie, Jena, and Josh think it's a great idea and they will make it. But unfortunately the rest of the cast is either busy with something or isn't in California.
Liam still hasn't responded. Maybe I should just give him a call? No, he might be busy. Apparently he might be engaged again. I've heard rumours but nothing official.
I switch through some channels on the TV as I wait for a response.
At about nine, I end up ordering some food for myself.
It's been a while since I've been alone and relaxed at home.
As I eat, I check my phone about every five minutes. Then, I finally decide to give him a call.
After about six rings it goes to voicemail. I hang up and drift off to sleep with a  box of Chinese food on my lap.

The next few days go by real slow. All I do is go for a couple interviews for Passengers and then stock up the shelves with food.

It is Thursday when I finally get a reply from Liam.
Hey, Jenn I'm so sorry for replying super late. I've just been busy with a few things. Although, Saturday sounds great, I don't think  I'll be able to make it.

I frown as I stare at the screen. I should've excepted this. He hasn't spoken to me since last December! So why would he want to get together now?
I really wanted him to come and I thought he would too. I can't ask him why or anything because I don't want to sound desperate.
So I decide to send him a short response.
Awe :( I was hoping you could come. But it's alright.
Then he replies with
I'm kidding! You really thought I wasn't going to come and you let it go so easily?! Of course I'm coming!
I grin as I finish reading the message. Now that sounds more like him.

<2 days later>

I wake up to the sound of my alarm clock going off as the bright sunlight of a Saturday morning shimmers through my bedroom curtains.
I rub my eyes and stare at the ceiling for a few moments. Then, I realize that it is Saturday! The day of the party!
I am so excited to see everyone!

I spend the next few hours getting some food and drinks, and getting the house ready. When the cast is together, it can get pretty chaotic but we always have a good time. We usually end up sleeping on the floor!

Everyone starts arriving at around six. Jena and Natalie are the first ones to come. Then Woody, Josh, and Elizabeth. After about an hour of chit chatting, having drinks, and just hanging around, I start to wonder why Liam isn't here.
I text him asking him where he is and luckily he replies with an on my way.
I smile as put my phone down and join the laughter with the others.

At about seven thirty, the doorbell rings. I get all excited and race to the door.
I open it and I am greeted by a smiling Liam. He looks great. Still handsome as ever. I've always felt this thing about him, but I've never really been sure what it is. I'm still not sure.
He opens his arms out and I don't hesitate to go into his warm embrace.
I rest my head on his shoulder and whisper softly.
"I've missed you Bear,"
"I've missed you too." He says as he tightens his grip on my body.
