Rey was sitting on a train to Boston. He was reading a book and waiting for some coffee. What else would you do on a train? He could hear that his coffee was getting closer. Others were ordering and he could hear those. But only one order stuck in his mind.
P: Ma'am Do you want something?
V: A cold coffee please. Topped with strawberries if possible.
P: Strawberries are not available ma'am. Will chocolate sauce do?
V: It's okay. I'll just have a plain one then. I'm allergic to chocolate.
It's her. I can't believe it's her. I have heard her voice after 5 long years. God I've missed her. I can't believe even after may years I may have the guts to say hi to her.
P: Sir, Do you want something?
Re: Just a cold coffee. Thanks.
He took his coffee and got lost in his own thoughts.
Flashback - 10 years back...
Rey and two of his friends - Swayam and Vicky, entered a cafe in mumbai. It was almost empty. They see three girls they had seen around in school but never talked to as they were in different sections.
The waiter had come to take thier order. All three of them order cold coffees.
The waiter next went to the girls. The waiter asked them what they wanted.
G1: Mujhe ek cold coffee wuth strawberry chahiye.
W: Ma'am Strawberry toh nahi hoga but chocolate sauce hai.
G1: Chi. Aap fir plain cold coffee de do. I can deal with that.
One of the other girls ordered a chocolate milkshake. She was being glared at by the first one. The other too ordered a cold coffee.
Re: *whispers to his friends* Yaar! kisi ko chocolate na pasand ho teh kaise ho sakta hai? I'm mean how can chocolate be chi?
Unknown to him it's heard by someone.
G1: Kyu nahi ho sakta? Jab kisi ko chocolate se allerge ho toh usse chocolate pasad kyu haga?
Rey turns to see her.
Re: Sorry mujhe nahi paata tha.
G1: It's okay. By the Way I'm Kriya.
Re: Reyaansh. Why don't you and your friends join us.
Kr: I don't see any harm in that.
Re: I think I have seen you in school.
Kr: Toh isliye tumhara chehra jana pahchana sa lag raha tha.
From there blosomed a wonderful friendship. The six of them were never seen alone. Especially Kriya and Rey. They were inseperable.
All of them went to college together. Sticking together. Slowly and Steadily the group became two couples hanging out with two of thier best friends.
Unknown to everyone Rey had started to fall head over heals for Kriya.
A few days before the end of college Kriya's mom that set her up to be engaged with one of her friend's son.
As expected from Kriya she agreed to it.
Later that day she told her friends the news. All of them were happy for her except Rey.
Re: Are you sure? I mean tum usse jaanti bhi nahi ho.
Kr: I'm sure Rey.
Re: I have a bad feeling about it Kriya.
Kr: yeh baat tum hazar bar kar choke ho. Why?
Rey couldn't keep his feeling to himself.
Re: Because I love you Damn it.
He realised what he had said. He knew his love was only one sided. He knew that Kriya thought of him as only a friend.
Re: I'm sorry.. I have to go.
He went away from there. After all he couldn't see the love of his live getting married to someone else.
After that night everything changed. They were never seen together. Everyone from the teachers to the students to the chai wala in front of their school knew that something had happened.
Kriya got engaged but was not happy at all. Her mind would only think about one person. Her best friend. The one she missed every second of her life. The one she could not imagine her life without.
Flashback Ends
Rey was shaken out of his thoughts by a tap on his shoulder. He looked up to see Kriya.
She is still the same. Beautiful.
Kr: Hi. I thought I heard you.
Re: Hey. How are you? And you is your fiancé? Or are you guys married now?
Kr: We broke off the engagement months into it.
Re: Oh! Sorry I didn't know.
Kr: Agar waha hote toh paata hota na.
There was silence between them. I had been five years since they had seen each other.
Re: Do you still miss him?
Kr: No. I was the one who broke it off.
Re: Why?
Kr: It was just not feeling right. I mean he is a nice guy and all but he was not for me.
Re: Maine uss din bhi kaha tha na.
Kr: Mujhe actually me teri baat sun leni chahiye thi.
Re: I'm always right.
Kr: Woh bhi jaan gayi hoon.
There was silence between them..again.
Kr: I missed you.
Re: Missed you too.
Kr: I can't believe hum paanch saal baad mile.
Re: Mujhe toh aisa lag raha hai ki hum kal hi mile the. Tumhare saath bitai hui saari yaade main har din yaad karta hoon.
Kr: Toh phir... gayab hone ke pahle jo tumne akhri cheez mujhe kahi thi uska javab doon?
Rey nods. He couldn't believe that She would actually remember it.
Kr: I love you too Rey. Tumhare saath spend ki hui har moment mere liye bahut special hai. It's like I can see them right in front of my eyes. I love you and only you. And I missed you like crazy. Every second of these five years.
Rey pulled her into a hug and then gently kissed her forehead.
Re: I love you forever.
Kr: I love you till the end.
