"A set up? What do you mean?" I tilt my head up as Dominic guides me toward the fireplace. He nods, taking a seat and lets out a breath, "If what you found is accurate, I have every reason to believe Zull wanted," he shakes his head, "no, he knew the Fighters would be there."

"But, wait, how could he have known?" I look away as my thoughts trail off because I'm starting to figure it out. Instantly my eyes go back to his, "Zack?" I whisper his name.

Dominic's expression is almost apologetic, "He could not have known, Kate. He must have already been under her influence."

"Oh my God, it's all making sense now," I whisper, shaking my head as images of all those dead Fighters slam back into my head, "We," my fingers begin rubbing at my temples, "We h--have to do something and fast," I quickly get to my feet but Dominic's hand goes up, "Hold on. The first thing we need to do is make absolutely sure," he scans around, "show me the photo you saw."

I instantly scramble over to the drawer of my nightstand and pull it open. I let out a quick sigh of relief when I see that the laptop is still sitting in the same spot I left it. Yanking it out I sprint over to the table as Dominic takes a seat, "Here you go," I set it down in front of him and open the top, "It should still be on the picture of her in that Celestial Order group."

We wait a few seconds for the screen to pop up and sure enough, the same image appears of Emily and the guy from the cemetery in the background. Dominic stretches his neck to get a better look and his eyes immediately go to mine, "You are right," he nods his head, "That is the same man."

"Okay," I rub my hands together, "so, now what do we do?" I'm already pacing back and forth, "I mean, we have to stop her or tell Zack or something," it feels like my mind is racing a hundred miles an hour.

"We wait," he says, stopping me where I am and I cock my head.

"Wait? Why? We have to do something now before someone else dies!" I whisper-shout.

"Kate, It is not that simple. We cannot tell anyone," his voice goes low, "not yet. I need more information," he looks back to the picture on the screen, "And hopefully, I will get my answers tonight at dinner."

Oh shit, how could I be so stupid? I almost forgot about that.

I shake my head and look away, "I--I'm sorry. What the hell am I thinking?" Dominic instantly gets up, taking my hands as he draws me close, "I know you mean well, love, but you must allow me to handle this," he kisses the top of my head and I feel the warmth of his breath, "Dr. Mansfield managed to stay under the radar for three months," his hand gently turns my face toward him and I look up, "And honestly," his tone becomes more serious, "I am more concerned about that than anything else."

"What do you mean?" his far away stare is making me nervous and I attempt to swallow the dry lump in my throat.

He smiles a little, but it's not the kind that reaches his eyes, "Because it means she has probably had access to places she should never have been," he closes his eyes for a second, "and most likely, Zack is not the only one she has been influenced."
