Tages put on his helmet and armor lent to him by Chris. He grabbed a short-sword, sheathed it, walked over to Chris and said,"Ready." Chris was already standing by the teleporter. They were getting ready for a supply run to a near planet, Siskalith. It was a massively populated planet, and it was known for the vast majority of merchants. They were going there to find information on getting to the third solar system.
Chris nodded his head, and they stepped into the teleporter.
~~~
They materialized on the ritual-like platform in the center of the planet. The center of the planet was a nearly empty place, even though the teleporter is in there. Tages and Chris walked to the elevator and stepped in. They sped upward and the junktown city came into view.
They navigated the confusing labyrinth, and with great difficulty fought through the oncoming traders and made they're way to the merchant. They traded some things, and Chris decided he wanted to go get a drink. Once they were in, they sat at the bar and ordered. Two gangly men walked up to them and held them at gunpoint.
"Give us your drinks, or yer goin' in the trash can", The larger one said. Chris stood up and puffed his chest.
"Is there a problem here," A raspy voice said from the corner. The bartender came out of the shadowy spot and continued speaking.
"I don't allow bar fights in here. You're gonna have to go."
He brought out a lengthy blade and stabbed the fat one multiple times in the stomach, and the now-dead body fell to floor, shank still embedded in the fat.
"The name's Argyle. Glad to have you at my bar. Happy to serve you."
Tages was watching all of this go down from his spot at the bar. Chris walked back and sat down. Argyle yanked the blade out of the man's fat and wiped it on his now-bloody suit.
"I really don't want to come across him again. Let's go," Chris said, obviously discouraged by the bar fight. They walked out of the bar, stepping around the dead man's body, and walked out into the crowded streets once more. They began to walk towards the elevator when Tages saw an advertisement for a new jumpship.
Tages looked at the price and realized he had enough money.
"CHRIS!!" Tages shouted. Chris jumped and turned around. "That ship can jump through solar barriers! It can get me to solar system three!"
Chris looked puzzled. "Do you have enough money?" Tages said yes, but looked at the price again. It costed 100,999 dollars. Tages only had 100,000 in his microchip embedded in his watch. Tages was just thinking, but somebody tapped him from behind and Tages turned around. Argyle was standing there.
"You don't have enough money, do you?" Tages shook his head.
"Only $999 less. I just want to get to my family."
Argyle pulled out a cyber card and gave it to Tages. "Let me travel with you guys, and i'll let you have this. It has 1,000,000 dollars on it, and I don't need it right now."
Tages thanked Argyle, and Chris said he could travel with them. They headed down to Hangar 02, where they sell spacecrafts and accessories for them. Once there, they presented the card and Tages got the keys.
"Argyle!"
The scrawny man from the bar returned, and with two people in armor.
"We've got you now! Time to die!"
They started firing, and the group ran to Tages' new ship. They got in and started it up, the craft hovering and then backing out of Hangar 02. Tages decided to try to blast through the roof of the place, and pressed the trigger on the controller. Flying through the newly made crater in the planet, they turned on the hyperdrive and sped into space.
