"Now the drought is sure to end. Did you hear the way she screamed? There is no doubt, she must have been a witch" the mayor's wife excitedly whispered to her plump neighbor.

"The last time someone screamed like that was when we burned the witch's mother" The neighbor whispered back and glanced around to see if anyone was listening to them.

"If you ask me the whole family is a bunch of witches. They should all be burned". The neighbor continued in a harsh whisper as her usually jolly face became stern.

"Well there are only two girls left." The wife shrugged "And lets face it the father is surely close to drinking himself to death." The neighbor tried to stiffle a quite laugh while the wife let out a loud hoarse croak that didnt fit her tiny frame.

I loudly cleared my throat and watched as they stiffened and both fell silent. The mayor's wife glanced over her shoulder and snarled.

"Go home. You have no business here." her fat neighbor nodded in agreement her double chin curling over itself.

"We will. Claire dropped her doll yesterday and we came back to get it" i quickly said and dropped my gaze to the cracked ground. She snorted in response and they continued on their way.

My little sister Claire let go of my hand and ran over to her doll in front of the charred black post where our older sister Sarah had been burned the day before and sat infront of it and began to babble incoherintly to it. I sighed and watched her talk then stiffened.

"My mother and sister were not enough for them so now they have to go after me and Claire! All for some rain" i thought to myself and clenched my hands in fists to my side. The sky above slowly began to gather the fluffy white clouds above my head without my noticing.

"I can't let Claire or myself end up the way Mom and Sarah did. I don't want to die that way just because i was born with powers just like them. What am i going to do?" I mummbled to myself and the clouds became a lite gray and released a small drop of rain that landed on the parched cracked ground in front of my feet.

I quickly looked to the sky that was clear only moments before that was now splattered with fluffy gray clouds all concentrating above my head. I glanced down at my hands that were still clenched to my side.

"All they wanted was rain" i felt my heart beat quicken.

They burned my mother. They caused my father to drink himself stupid. Then when that wasnt enough theu burned my sister too. I-I could have saved them.

"I control the rain" I whispere and glanced back up at the now heavy black clouds and a crocked grin slipped onto my pale face as cold tears streamed down.

The clouds erupted in cracks of deafining thunder that was followed by blinding snake lightning that struck all over the dry town lighting anything it touched with flames that soon reached the black sky. The flames were soon competing with the burning rain that was hotter than the fires itself burning the villager's skin as they fled from their burning houses into the town square.

The hot drops rolled off of me and hit the ground where it hissed and sizzled. Claire and i's skin completly un-harmed by the boiling water. Claire sat completly peroccupied with talking to her doll to pay attention to the screams of panic and pain that erupted all around us.

"They burned my family" I smiled " Now i'm going to burn them".
