-Richard Grayson-
When you spotted it, your heart broke into slivers. You were merely walking down Gotham's slums (against Dick's warnings) when you spotted it leashed up to a post, left to rot and die. You gasped, eyes glittering in shock at the weakened beauty. Rushing to your knees before the shivering creature, you threw off your jacket, despite the chill in Gotham's weather, and jumped back in shock when it growled. You gulped, suddenly nervously, as you slowly held out your hands, the jacket slung over an arm. "Easy, lovely...I'm not here to hurt you..." The dog only continued to growl.
You sighed, lowering yourself down to its level, lowering a hand. The dog's teeth bared and you cringed. It was matted with layers of fur, unrecognizable, with long claws and yellow teeth with black plaque. It was thin otherwise and shaking, weakly standing up with fur on end as it weakly whimpered. You sighed, plopping yourself on the dirty ground without a care, letting the dog slowly approach you with caution. Licking your lips, you watched as the dog sniffed you, it's unhealthy dry nose brushing on your skin and sending goosebumps. It finally plopped down, exhausted beside you.
You gently wrapped it in your jacket, sighing in relief before quickly rushing to the one place you knew had what you needed; Wayne Manor.
You arrived, finding no one home, and got yourself inside. You brushed back Titus, who barked happily upon your arrival before curiously sniffing the weak bundle and sneezed. "I agree. A bath is needed." He was so matted that you couldn't tell if it was a boy or girl. So you found scissors and a shaver, carefully taking off matted fur patches and tossing it away while Titus stuck around to keep an eye on you and the dog.
By the time you were done, he looked so much better. It was a male after all, it seemed. The dog looked incredibly thin, but weakly still whipped his tail on the table to show he was also pleased. You gave him plenty of food and water, watching him scarf it up. You also fed Titus for the heck of it.
You took the dog to the bath right after, washing him off well with shampoo. He kept splashing and shaking off, getting you all wet. You laughed while Titus ducked for cover, not very amused. Taking the dog out of the tub to dry off, he slipped through your arms and escaped through the manor, although mostly dry. "Wa-No, no, no!" You shot up and Titus followed your lead, chasing him through the corridors of the manor, unaware of someone visiting to pick up a few things. He paused, surprised on finding you, and amused as he stood, waiting for you to notice him as you and Titus finally got to him, scooping him up. You were a panting mess by this point. Looking up after blowing a stay hair out of your face, you froze with wide eyes, the puppy and Titus also staring. 'Busted.'
"Isn't this a sight to see?" Dick Grayson smirked at the predicament you were stuck in. You blushed, brushing the hairs back from your face as he approached, smiling and gently petting the dog. "What's his name?"
"I don't know. I found him chained to a pole." You replied as the puppy snuggled into you, warm and relaxed. You smiled at it fondly and Dick watched your expression. You were so content...
"Well, I have some of Titus' old things we can use..."
-Jason Todd-
Jason Todd knew by now that you were typically a rather surprising person, but he was in shock upon returning home to find it absolutely trashed and torn apart. Dropping everything, he frantically assumed the worst; his home was ransacked. A hand gun in his hands, he crept around the home. "(Y/N)?" He called softly as he peered into the guest bedroom. You were not there and the room was strangely untouched.
