As the day sluggishly went by, Private Kolt BlackBurn, a new US army trainee, was huddled up
around the plasma screen television that took up the upper corner of the room with about 18 other recruits. They were all watching the New Years Event in New York City, one of the most busting cities of the world. As that big shiny ball slowly went down the pipe, and the huge screen below it was counting down, everyone was filled with pure excitement, a new year! "I can't wait for 2017!", yelled a hype recruit. The screen hit the 50 seconds left mark. "Yea, and maybe we can get out of our troubles with the Russians!" said another recruit, with sheer excitement in his voice. 40 seconds. "I can't wait to get home and eat my moms rice and beans like old times" said another recruit, this one a friend of Kolt, his names Montes.15 seconds."Guys, calm down! Its a new year, like the other ones we've been through!" says Kolt, trying not only to shut everyone up, but to also hear the TV. 9......8.....7...6...5...4...3...2....1..flash... Everyone in the room jumped for joy, hugging each other, and yelling "2017! WOO! YEA!". Kolt, was the quietest of the group. He was looking at the TV the whole time, watching all the happy people. People kissing, hugging, crying for joy...all that stuff....and him? Well, he was in an army boot camp, getting ready to get sent off into war, without knowing if he'll come back with both arms attached, no arms at all, or just not at all. Plain as that. Montes yelled in Kolt's ear, as his voice was drowned out my the noise "Dude, get the hell up! Its 2017 bro!!!!!" Kolt gets up, pops up a smile and yells "Yea! Cheers to another year!" Before you knew it, the whole camp was celebrating. But the truth is that, yes, they and the country, no the world are happy now, but in reality, war is very much imminent as the U.S goes to war with Middle Eastern countries such as Iraq, and Iran, which both are close to friends to Russia, the chances of Russia joining are high. If Russia joins, so will Britain then joins China..and more to come..resulting in what might be called World War 3. But thankfully, Russia is showing no signs of war but that doesnt means it'll happen. If war is to happen, the U.S will need every able bodied man to join the war effort..evry single man, thus the draft that was introduced in late 2015. The Christmas Draft they call it, since most of the people were taken into the army during the holiday, thats how it got its name. The draft took boys from age 16- 23, and women could not join, since someone had to stay at home, or take care of the baby or children. Since 2012 the economy has improved-- greatly, so the government will supply each and every wife or girlfriend of a soldier with $100,000 dollars every 2 months, and they asked all the rent companies and other companies such as Cod Edison to only give bills every 4 months. They agreed, of course. Kolt is only a 17 year old boy from Boston, Massachusetts and his friend Montes, is from Louisiana and he's only 16. As of January 2nd 2017, they will be sent off into Iran, to meet up with there new squad...Kolt and Montes hope that they'll have to be there for a little bit of time...if training was hard, who knows about the real thing? Where is you get shot....its all over for you.....
