My head pounded, everything was painfully numb... it was dark...
"Alexander..." Whispered a familiar voice.
"John?" I questioned, trying to spot him. It was so dark. So cold...
"Alexander." The voice spoke again. Slightly louder than before. Everything began to brighten, I heard a faint beeping. Where was I? What happened?
"Alexander!" The voice shouted as I shot up from my bed. The alarm clock was beeping and I was in a cold sweat. I shakily looked up at John, slowly and softly placing a hand on his cheek.
"Laurens..." I whispered, cupping his face.
"Hamilton... is something wrong? You seem a little... out of it." I shook my head. I didn't need to bother him with my trivial problems, especially if I wasn't sure what the problem was. My chest ached in a strange way, and I had no clue what was going on. I removed my hand from John's face quickly, wondering why I'd even had it there in the first place. His beautiful eyes stared at me, like little pools of chocolate. I shook my head, removing the thoughts as I gave John a reassuring smile, wanting him to know I was fine. He didn't seem to believe me in the slightest, but he moved on.
"So... we're gonna be-" Before he even finished his sentence I had already gotten dressed and grabbed my stuff. I said a quick goodbye before leaving him alone in that room. I felt bad, but... I couldn't be late.John's POV
He said goodbye. Alexander "Non-stop" Hamilton said goodbye to me even though he was running out of time to get to class. I was bewildered. I've never really... seen anyone like him before. I had all my classes scheduled for all my friends because I'd known them before him, but... I wished that I had chosen all of his. Even if it meant I'd have to wake up super early. A knock on the door shocked me out of my thoughts.
"Come in!" I called quietly from my place on the bed. I was only just loud enough for them to hear. Herc and Laf came in, laughing about something. The two sat down on either side of me, not saying a word.
"Mon ami," Laffayette began, clearing his throat after.
"We know you've been kinda down lately..." Hercules joined in, fiddling with his hands.
"So... Nous voulions faire une fête!!... I mean, we wanted to party! I mean, throw one... a party..."
"We said it was a mixer (since we do those randomly)... but we really just wanted to lift your spirits. The school agreed to it! It's more of a dance..." Hercules looked down, upset that it wasn't necessarily a real party. Laffayette patted Hercules on the back, smiling at him.
"Ne t'inquiète pas, mon ami! Il sera encore amusant, peu importe quoi!" Lafayette beamed. Hercules and I stood there, staring... we had no idea what he just said... where's Alexander? He knows Fre- oh, right. Class... Lafayette seemed embaressed, like he had just realized that he wasn't speaking English.
"Yeah!" Hercules stated, trying to blend in, make it seem that he knew what was going on. Lafayette hugged him tightly and ran out of the room. Hercules was about to say something, but Lafayette busted back into the room.
"Mes amies! You have to see this!" Lafayette called, running back outside. Herc and I exchanged worried looks before dashing out of the room.
"Xander..." A voice mumbled, looking down upon someone. I went around the corner and got a glimpse of the taller person. He looked slightly like Lafayette, but he was definitely dressed better. I saw a bunch of people backing him up, so I had only to assume that this was Thomas Jefferson.
"Well, well, well... seems you've gotten a couple friends, ey Xander?"
"Don't call me that..." Alexander huffed, looking as tough as he could against the bully's tall frame.
"Whatever. I bet your dad's so proud! Oh, wait... he couldn't be. You were too much if a disappointment before he left that I doubt he'd care much now!" Thomas laughed, getting high-fives from someone standing next to him. Everyone behind Thomas laughed along, making my blood boil.
"Don't you EVER talk about my family again!" Alexander shouted, eyes swelling with rage. He looked like he was about to explode.
"Oh? And who are you to stop me. I don't know if you know this, but..." Thomas turned and gestured to the people standing behind him, "They're with me, and against you." Thomas smiled a devilish smile. I clenched my fists tight, trying my best not to rush the popular prick.
"I... I'm not alone anymore! I won't be helpless! They make me strong and... and happy!" Alexander smiled. I couldn't believe the wide smile he was wearing, and the blush I could've sworn I saw creep up his cheeks. I watched as Thomas rolled up his sleeve. Everything went in slow motion after that. I ran in front of Alexander and caught Thomas' fist before it made contact with Alexander.
"Sorry... party's over." I stated coldly. I could sense the fiery look in my eyes. Thomas gulped, then straightened himself out, trying to look strong again.
"Hm. Who's this pipsqueek, huh?" Thomas chuckled, causing his back up to laugh with him as he yanked his fist from my hand. I felt a hand on my side as Alexander pushed me next to him.
"This is my back up. I would punch you kick you or whatever, but... I'd prefer not to get expelled. So, scram." Alexander smirked. He's so strong, and powerful. His words could move mountains.
"Fine. But this isn't over. See you later." Thomas scoffed. As he walked by he ran into Alexander's shoulder, knocking him back a little from the force.Sorry about all the punching and near punching.
