Chapter 8: Dark Flowers Withering

It was so hot in the morning, summer has started. I went to school as always, life in the school was still the same. Everything hasn't changed, everyone was studying like they should be; and that includes me and other members of the council. It seems that the council office has became quiet these days, there was nothing for council members to go to the office, it was strange at first but it was still Carvell's order. Recently I saw Allen and Charles hanging out together without Carvell, I was wondering about it so I had to ask Darien. He said he was gone because of personal reason, and he's going to be gone for a few days. The school has become so quiet and empty, or maybe this was the right thing for everyone knowing the school won't be chaotic without him. But still I missed him and the chaotic moment he had done.

Since he was gone, the school has changed its teaching program. One of its big changes is the special S-class has finally had official teacher, and the class was taught by foreign teachers. We also had a long period time studying like other classes, strangely since Carvell's gone the title of 'special classes' has been taken. This dramatic changes surprised all of us, we didn't protest but we still haven't used to it. He was already gone the day after party and now with a sudden changes in school, I was wondering why did he do all this, but it concerned me that there's something in Carvell's mind that made him do all this.

I saw Alice sitting quietly beside me; she was very quiet these days. While the teacher was teaching I tried to talk with Alice.

"Do you have time for me later, Alice?" I whispered to her.

"What? Why?"

"We will be having a long conversation later, because I want to know you better and I want to be your best friend rather just a classmate"

"What do you want to know about me?" she asked.

"Don't know. Anything that makes us best friends. You don't want to?" I smiled at her.

"No, of course I want to. But I....."

"Great! Let's talk later okay, teacher would notice us if we talk any longer" I interrupted.

Instead having lunch, Alice and I were having a great conversation at lunch. We sat on a bench outside the high school building. We were having a great time together and enjoyed ourselves, and it naturally made us feel closer that we used to. After we talked nonstop, Alice had gone to bring drinks for the two of us. I was waiting for her but then I heard music, it was exactly the music that Carvell used to play for me. Without realizing it, I followed the music. The music was so clear and it made me know where exactly the music came from. Suddenly the music stopped, I was sure the music was from the music room. But when I opened the door, he had already gone, but I was sure Carvell was here playing the piano earlier. I came back to where Alice was, she was already waiting for me with drinks in her hands. She looked worried but she calmly waited for me on the bench.

"Sorry for making you wait so long" I said

"Malice! Where were you? I was worried, were you bored so you wondered off waiting for me?"

"No that's not it, I went to toilet earlier, sorry for making worry like that..."

"It's ok, as long as you're okay"

"I was wondering, has Carvell come back yet?" I asked

"No, why do you ask?"

"I just have a feeling that he's already here"
