Sherlock:

“Mr. Holmes?” She asks, slightly leaning forward, attempting to see my face through the shadows.

“Oh, please Katherine. If we’re going to work together, call me Sherlock.” I say, stepping back a little bit. She steps away from the wall.

“Mr. H-“

“Sherlock.” I correct.

“How do you know my name?” She asks, her eyebrows slightly drawn together.

“I heard the man who was working with you…Jack, was it? He called you Kate. I could only assume your full name is Katherine, Miss Harrison.”

“Please, just call me Kate or Katherine. And...who said we were going to work together?” She asks. “On what?”

“You want to do detective work, you would want to work with me. You just quit your job and you don’t have any other occupations. Besides, I might need a flat mate…other than John. I need someone who is also a sociopath.”

“I'm not a-"

“Maybe. Maybe not.” I say. “Katherine, you do, in fact, want to do detective work, yes? Then if you want to, you will work with me and Dr. John Watson. We are currently working on a case and believe you could be of help to us. And, you currently do not live in an ideal place. You could be a flat mate-no charge.”

She doesn’t answer. I can see her bright blue eyes staring at me. I can tell she’s contemplating whether or not to accept my generous offer.

“So you’re Sherlock Holmes, and you want me to solve crimes with you and live with you.” Katherine says finally.

“Yes.” I confirm.

She doesn’t say anything for a while, still thinking about it, her eyes quickly darting back and forth.

Well, another deduction is that she's very observant, so...that's good.

“Fine.” Katherine finally answers. “When should I start?”

“Tomorrow morning. 11:00, 221B, Baker Street. See you then.” With that I whisk out of the alley and jump in a cab.
