"One Carmel Latte with a bagel?" Winter says in a cheerful tone. The man who had ordered it nods as she tells him the price and the estimated time it will take. Winter sighs as she grabs the bagel and drink and sets it on a tray. She calls for the man as he comes over and thanks her. She sighs heavily as he was the last person of the day. People rarely come in after eight. Winter looks around and spots one girl. She had her jet black hair tied into a pony tail with glasses on. She wasn't doing anything else but reading, something she's been doing since she came in with a pile of papers this morning.
"Found it!" The girl yells, causing just about everyone to look or at least glance her way. She shrinks down in embarrassment as she quickly gathers her things and runs out of the shop, dropping a piece of paper in the process. Winter calmly walks over and looks at it, it was a news article. Winter looks over it, quickly finding something that perks her interest.Family of Five Mysteriously Goes Missing.
On the night of August 16, 20xx the Wheat family went missing under mysterious circumstances. With the mother, Margrette Wheat, Father, Jonathan Wheat, and the three kids, Lily Wheat(16), Nathan Wheat (12), and Emma Wheat (11). Not many traces were left as in the night they were seen with family friends. But after they had left they were not seen again. No traces of them moving were found as all of their possessions were left in their homes and they weren't seen with any bags. "I helped Jonathan get a couple of drinks out the trunk. Nothing seemed off as there were no additional bags or boxes." - Teresa Jones, family friend.Winter found the paper odd, as the paper was from seven years ago. She hadn't recognized it at first, as she was the same age as Emma Wheat, the youngest of the family. Winter folded it along the already existing creases and set it into her pants. She continued as usual, feeling as if something changed when she picked up that article.

A couple days later the same girl came in. My shift was almost over so I was happy that she came in, I wanted to give her the article back. She walked up to me and slammed her hands down, causing me to jump back just a little in shock. "You seem like someone I can trust. After your shift meet me in the back, I need your help." I gave her a deer in the headlights look. I was, well frankly, confused if I'm completely honest.
"What?" I ask, she sighed heavily and gave me a piece of paper.
"I'll explain later. Also can I get a blueberry bagel. I heard they're really good. Oh and with cream cheese." I nod and put it into the register, she gave me the money and I handed her the bagel. Once my shift ended, only a couple minutes after she talked to me I finally look at the paper.Winter, don't worry I know your name from your name tag, You're a good person. We've met before, but you have to help me find my family. I've lost seven years of my memory, but I know within those seven years I had met you once before. Please, I need to find them.
Emma Wheat.Emma.. Had I really met her before? I rush to the back and she was standing there smoking and tapping her foot impatiently. "You know smoking isn't good for you, Emma."
She looked at me and smiled. She took the cigarette out and let it fall to the ground, she stepped on it and walked over to me quickly. "You read the letter, thank god. And I assume you read that paper I dropped.. That wasn't on purpose but I'm glad it happened. Please.. I've found enough to give us a lead.. But I really can't do this alone. The last thing I remember is going under a bridge and ending up in a place that.. That wasn't earth." I look at her, mildly questioning her sanity. But, I believed her. Plus I'm also really interested in this. I love mysteries.
"Ok.. um.. So why do you need my help?"
"I'll show you." She says, grabbing ahold of my arm and running.
