Prologue
They were bipedal, walked around on two feet. They took long, heavy steps, walking around with their weird electric space guns. He stalked around, cautious, blood gushing out of his leg. They had caught him before, once before. He had escaped, ran as fast as he could, he had caught a cut to his leg, they had cut him with those spindly teeth. He peered around the corner, they were coming, he withdrew himself, tried to run, he tripped, everything fell around him. Growls came from the others, and they moved towards him. He hid behind some oil drums, large enough for him to crouch behind. His heart beated rapidly, he felt it in his chest. There were 12 that he could hear. All his training in combat in the army felt like it was melting inside of him through his sweat. These 'others' were immune to lead human bullets. Their thick skin, radiating with a subtle green glow seemed to repel the bullets, like armour, bulletproof armour. They were walking along the waste, ridden road. Long and deserted, scattered with the bodies of men, woman and children. He looked at the street and saw a wig of familiar brown locks or wavy hair, topped with a blood soaked bandanna. She was holding someone- His child. His wife. His chest filled with anger, heart beating, face burning.
"AHHHHRRRRRRRRR" He screamed with anger holding back tears. The other's turned around. A blast of blinding light shot from the end of a gun. He stopped. Pain shot through his veins. BOOM! He blasted into minuscule granules of ash, blowing away in the wind with the rest of the forgotten race. Humanity.
