Veronica's p.o.v.
The next morning I rolled out of bed, grabbed my dad's old sweatshirt and started to head to the kitchen. The one wall had a little ledge and opening for when you were cooking you could hand the food out. I opened up a cabinet to get a plate and a bowl.
"Baby, I have to go but we can do something together later." Mary said as Ethan and her came into view through the window. I took the plate and bowl and put it on the other side of the fridge. I couldn't stand the show she was putting on with him. I couldn't stand the show he was putting on with her. I grabbed some eggs from the fridge and bacon from the freezer.
"Oh good morning Veronica," she said in a sing-song voice as she pressed her body up against Ethan. Almost immediately after Mary said my name and did this, he wrapped his arms around her waist and looked up at me. Even though I wasn't looking at him I could tell that any compassion or softness was gone from his eyes and they were empty voids.
"Good morning Veronica," he said. I could hear the douchebag smirk in his voice.
Without even looking up, I said without hesitation, "Good morning. Can I help you with something or are you going to stand there all day." Two could play at this game.
He seemed taken aback because out of the corner of my eye I could see his face falter and a flicker of guilt flash in his eyes. However, it was quickly replaced with the empty void again. "Don't speak to my baby like that Veronica!" Mary exclaimed as she turned to him as kissed him sloppily, making sure that it was audible.
I rolled my eyes and said nothing. I wasn't going to risk everything; the channel, the future opportunities, my privacy, the TOUR. It wasn't going to happen so I let her have her moment with Ethan. She giggled and looked at Ethan before she kissed him and left. Ethan stood there and stared at me. He started to say something but I cut him off. "I don't want to hear it, Ethan," I without even looking at him. He just sighed and walked away.
I turned some music on and hummed along to it as I made an omelet. Ethan and Mary disappeared from my mind and they were quickly replaced with thoughts of the tour. How many shows are there going to be? Who is my tour manager going to be? Will I get to explore each place every show is at?
Ricky texted me to remind me where and when the meeting is going to be held so I was aware. Mr. White finally came through with a car for Lola and I to use on our own. I took a shower and made sure that I was presentable, with a nice, white blouse, skinny jeans and a black blazer. I put my hair up into a French twist and my makeup was minimal. As I was about to leave, Lola came out of her room rubbing her eyes.
"Where are you going?"
I pulled her into my room and shut the door. I didn't want Ethan or Grayson to know about the tour; about Rose in general. "I'm going to a meeting with Ricky and Alex."
"Why?" she asked clearly puzzled. Lola was probably wondering why she hadn't been invited.
I turned away for a moment. Why was I so scared to tell Lola? I took a deep breath and turned back around. As I stared at the ground I said in a shy voice, "They want me to go on tour."
Lola was quiet for a few seconds so I looked up. She was completely elated. "This is great Veronica!!" She grabbed me by the shoulders and then hugged me. I was stiff for a moment before I relaxed and hugged her. She was the person I trusted the most, I shouldn't have been scared to tell her.
"Well go to your meeting then! You have to tell me everything when you get back!" She squealed and pushed me all the way to the door and out. I barely had enough time to grab my keys and purse. For a moment I stood there, trying to let my mind catch up and then a shook my head and laughed. I made my way downstairs and over to the Jeep Wrangler Alex got for Lola and I. As I turned out onto the highway I turned up the radio.
