Confusion
Silence. That was all, nothing alse. Not the sound of vehicles passing on the outside, no musice from the neighboring homes, and no crying of a child. It was out of place to have such silence at this time of night on a weekend. It made my body tense all over. There was one thing I was sure about, I would do anything to protect Naya. She was my only concern and I would do anything to keep her safe.
I turned to look at the where the basket landed. Gone! Where did it go? There was nothing to show that it had ever been there. No scratches on the wood floor or the door where Naya had bumped the basket when tring to get rid of it. The door was closed and locked, no way of anyone oppening it without us having noticed.
"What are you doing Kiami?" Nay asked behind me.
"Its gone. Whaaaa?" I stoped mid sentence, she too had changed. Her hair was sholder legnth short, her eyes seemed to have lost their shine, there was bags under them. She had different clothes on aswell, she wore a yellow flowered sundress with yellow pumps to match. Sure se looked gorgeous but Nay loath to wear dresses of any kind. "Wha-a- what are you wearing Nay?"
"The dress you bought me silly." she replyed, "Why are you wearing the black dress when I asked you to wear the green one? I guess it doesn't really matter as long as your dressed. Come and have brunch with us darling." She finished saying with a big smile that wore red lipstick around it.
Beautiful, just beautiful, was all that came to mind. There was no way she could ever not look beautiful to me. I would always love her, no dought about...
"Did you say brunch?" I asked looking at myself on the hallway mirror. I was wearing a flowy spaghetti strap black dress with a green rebon around the waist to add color. "Who's here?"
"Just us, why? Look, the food's getting cold and you know how Jamie gets when I give her cold food." She said as she walked to the back proch. Not sure of what to do I followed.
Out on the porch was a table set for two grown people and a child. Infront of the childs' plate I saw her, about 2 years old, so small and beautiful. Was she the one that was in the basket? Jamie? Thats what Naya had called her. Jamie had a chubby face with soft pink cheeks holding a smile of only two front teeth. Her eyes were more of a honey brown than hazel and had big long lashes that made her even more wonderful to look at. Could she have possably said those things to Naya?
"Ok now, lets dig in." Naya said as she made to get some eggs. "Dont worry about Jamie, Kiami. I'll help her this time if she wont eat. You've been helping her this past week and I think I can do it too."
I smilled in agreement and began to eat.
There was a little to much going of at the moment for me to really understand or prosses what was going on. The basket was gone but here was Jamie. It was no longer that night but a whole 2 years later in the morning. What ever had happened that night was something big and I had to find out what was going on before things change again on me. I needed to find the Nikolai.
