Most people don't have a best friend since first grade. They don't get blessed with such a great hand. Well I did, keep that word in mind. It was Kayden, Dawson, Mayia and I, we weren't in the same class but we made it work. In the middle of first grade, Dawson moved and that was a tear in all of our hearts. Texas is far away from Ohio so we knew we wouldn't see him again. We said our last goodbyes and then went on our way. Kayden, Mayia and I were still friends but we didn't have the missing piece to this puzzle called life.
We went on to fourth grade and then Mayia just stopped. She didn't talk to us anymore, she hung out with the, "popular kids." Well Kayden and I still were the best of friends. Nothing could've got in our way.
In fifth grade Mayia moved to Kentucky. It wasn't as tragic as Dawson's move but it was still upsetting. Kayden and I grew closer than we were ever. Our lockers were beside each other and we had all the same classes in the begining 6th grade. Things began to change. There was this girl named Makayla who was obsessed with kayden, he liked her (or so he said) as much as she liked him. I was his best friend, what was I supposed to do? Sit on the side lines and not help him? (looking back now, I wish I did.) Anyway I helped him out and got them to date. Things weren't looking to good. Kayden was now focused on Makayla and Makayla only. Inside, all I was was jealous. It's not fair for some cheerleader who liked him for a week (When I knew him his whole life and never stood a chance,) sweep him up all to herself.
I was a little mad so I just kinda kept my distance. Another girl named Ainsley in my class, (The smartie who gets everything handed to her.) Claimed to be Kaydens best friend. I jumped up and said, "sorry, that spot is taken." She still went on with it. I was mad and I had every right to be. We had a class field trip to Outdoor ED. We were there for 3 days and that's when it went down.
