The weather was beautiful today.

It was still quite cold since it was begin December, but the sun shone bright.

This was the ideal weather for my first ever air bending lesson with two other ray of sunshines, Taehyung and Hoseok. They brought me towards the garden when I arrived at their mansion, after finishing my dinner on campus. The view in the backyard was breathtaking, the last rays of sun illuminating the high mountains, shining a pink and orange glow.

"Let's see how talented you actually are." Hoseok spoke as he clapped his hands together. "We weren't sure whether we should start with simple breathing techniques, but maybe it's worth to give something else a shot first. Otherwise it's so boring." He rolled his eyes as Taehyung walked to stand a couple of meters in front of me.

I bit my cheeks out of anxiety as he bent his knees and crouched over, as if he could attack at any second.

"Now try to concentrate, Gabrielle." Hoseok told me from behind. "Taehyung is going to bend some soft air curves in your direction. I want you to try to grasp these, and send them back."

"Don't feel pressured to do so, though." Taehyung added. "It took us at least half a year to get a grasp at this when we went in training. It takes a lot of concentration but once you get the hang of it, it's easy peasy!"

I nodded, trying to imitate Taehyung's posture as I bent my knees as well.

"Ready?" He asked, making sure I was okay.

I nodded again while taking a deep breath.

Everything seemed to go in slow motion when Taehyung lurched backwards, waving his hands in the air. He then bent forwards again, sending what seemed a soft summer breeze towards me. Not sure of what exactly to do, I reached forwards to wrap me arms around the air curves, pretending it to be water, or fire even. As the waves of air touched my fingers, I actually felt it. It was fresh, just like water, but much lighter, just like fire. It was also quick, and it didn't stay in my touch for very long.

I pouted as I sensed the breeze to have disappeared.

"You have to be quicker, but I noticed you were getting there though." Hoseok stated. "Try it one more time, and send it back the moment you feel it."

I nodded once again, concentrating on Taehyung as he repeated his previous movement and sent another light breeze.

This time I followed Hoseok instructions, sending it back. However it took me quite a lot of effort and it didn't even reach Taehyung as it was so weak.

"Don't use your muscles." Taehyung explained. "You have to behave like air itself to bend it. So try to be light, and use the air around you to send it back."

We tried it again, and it went much better. We repeated it several times, until I sent back an air wave so strong that it literally blew Taehyung away.

"Perfect, Gabrielle!" Hoseok clapped his hands together as Taehyung massaged his sore bum from the fall. "That was great!"

"Yeah, I think that's enough for now though." Taehyung added with a grimace, his hand still on his backside as he drifted towards us. "It's almost pitch black so let's call it a day."

We both nodded in agreement as it was indeed getting quite dark now, the sun being under making it hard to see.

"Would you like to join us for a drink before heading home? It's only 9." Hoseok asked with a smile, however I quickly declined.

"Thanks, but no way. I'm not going to touch a single drop of alcohol for at least a week due to the heavy drinking on Tuesday. I was dead yesterday and still partially suffering from a hungover. "
