I loved Christmas.

However, not for the reason why most people loved Christmas though. For them, Christmas was associated with family, love, food and everything peaceful.

For me it meant my family was away for a couple of days, and I wouldn't have to go through painful beating and bullying. Just being ignored was a blast for me. If I was lucky, some of the guards would even pass me an extra large portion of bread and beans.

It was great.

I had never spent Christmas with Sir Tsumin however, since it was the day I escaped and I was sent to Lantford after spending 9 months with him.

This is why I was extremely nervous to go home for the holidays, since I wasn't quite sure what to expect. On top of that, Lantford had this tradition that on the last day before everyone went home for Christmas, a large show was performed by the students at the academy's theatre, showcasing their bending skills. This only added to my anxiety, but there was also a hint of excitement to be reunited with Sir Tsumin again, and showcase some of the new bending skills I now mastered.

Over the past few weeks, developed myself further in fire bending, and got acquainted with the basics of earth and air bending.

In contrast to his first lessons, Yoongi had taken it much more easy in our recent sessions. It only added more improvement to my technique however, and I almost started to feel comfortable in fire bending than water bending.

Earth bending hadn't been too much of a struggle for me either. I suspected this was mainly because I already mastered the technique of metal bending, and earth bending didn't require as much concentration. I also didn't really mind that I was mostly taught by Jimin during earth bending sessions, since Namjoon - of course - would have better things to do. Besides, Jimin was much more skilled and athletic, he had claimed, so it would be more efficient to learn from him anyway.

During the sessions with Jimin he would be sweet and caring, but also quite flirtatious. At first I went along with it, but the glares that Jungkook continued to send into my direction prevented me from returning his gestures. His apparent hatred towards me had only intensified after the bending match weeks ago, when BTS-50 - to Yuta's utter disappointment - managed to win the match in barely 30 minutes, and Jimin opted to send a very obvious wink into our direction in the box. With just my luck, the camera's happened to capture the moment and display the gesture on the huge monitors, sparkling the curiosity amongst the students. Some thought it was just a joke towards his best friends situated in the box, others suspected it was directed to either the girl with two dads, or the new transfer student. Of course, they were only rumours and no one paid too much attention to them. However, everyone who sat in the box knew well enough who the wink was directed to.

Jungkook had stood up as if his ass had been caught on fire, rushing off without a word. Since then he continued to shoot glares at me whenever I was around him. He had turned stone cold and even avoided me during class. He didn't even bother to pester me anymore with my stupid answers or mistakes I made during seminars. He even gone through the effort to befriend Seungri - an isolated, slightly odd, but A-grade student - so he could copy his answers.

It was so strong that it even became apparent to students other than my friends and BTS. There were many rumours going around, and even Jae had gone through the effort to approach our table during lunch one time to inquire why Jungkook seemed to hate me so much. Luckily I didn't have to answer - Yuta made him leave our table with his tail tugged between his legs in like 5 minutes - but it still hurt. It actually hurt so much, that my crush for Jimin started to fizzle out. I noticed Jimin felt it too, because his flirting subtly subsided as Jungkook continued his behaviour.
