Percy
"Merlin's beard!" A voice screamed in my ear,"Wake up, mate!"
I groaned, and tried to pull the covers over my head, but at that exact moment Sally decided she wanted to play. She pounced, but unfortunately for me, her aim was off. My cat ended up landing on my crotch.
A yelp erupted from my mouth, and I started. My movement resulted in me falling off of the bed. Ouch. When I managed to sit up, I became aware of the laughter around me. From the tone, I knew they weren't laughing with me.
I sighed, and got up off of the floor. Giving my cat the best glare I could, but instantly it dissipated. Her eyes widened to the size of an owl, and I knew I couldn't be mad at her. I pat her in the head, and straightened the covers of my bed once more.
"Bloody hell, Jackson." Malfoy's voice snarled,"Hurry up. I don't want to be late."
I rolled my eyes, and grabbed my clothes. I slipped off my shirt, and pulled my robe over my pajama pants. Then I grabbed a pair of jeans, removing my pajama pants, and replacing them with the jeans.
A meow from Sally drew my attention. She was playing with one of my shoes. I chuckled softly, rubbing her stomach when she flipped over. Grabbing my sperry's from her grip, I pulled them over my cold feet.
Once I was fully dressed, I grabbed my wand, and placed my cat on my shoulder. Then I locked up my trunk, recasting the spells I placed over it. I made my bed like my mother taught me, and made sure I didn't leave anything. I spotted my duffle bag under the bed, and I placed parchment and quills I would need, as well as the books. A sigh from the side drew my attention.
"We aren't together, so you don't have to wait for me to get ready for the date." I snarled to the impatient blonde.
He sputtered indignant,"You're not allowed to bring your cat to class."
I smirked at him,"Watch me."
***Line Break***
"Hey, Percy!" Apollo greeted enthusiastically.
My two cousins sat in the empty seats across from me. My house mates refused to sit with me, but I didn't mind. The only problem was that I couldn't read the schedule I was given. I guess my cousins saw, so they decided to give their godly aid.
"You've got Potions first, then Defense Against the Dark Arts. Ancient Runes, Transfiguration, Herbology, and Charms. Lunch is somewhere in there, and then you don't have a period." Hermes listed for me.
I frowned,"All in one day?"
Apollo shook his head, reading over Hermes shoulder,"Block schedule. Four a day, free every. So three core today."
I nodded my head,"What's today then?"
"Potions, Transfiguration, and Ancient Runes."
"What are you guys teaching?" I asked them, I wanted to see them today.
They looked at each other. They narrowed their eyes. I hid a laugh, they were trying to remember, what an exciting year it'll be.
"I'm helping Madam Pomfrey in the hospital wing, but I'll also be doing some co-Herbology and Ancient Runes." Apollo declared.
"Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Potions." Hermes stated with scrunched eyes.
"So I'll see you later?" I confirmed.
They both nodded. I smiled at them, handing Sally some food from my plate. She gobbled it down happily and started purring affectionately. I cooed, petting her, a flash drew my attention away.
Apollo was holding a camera in the action of taking a picture. I glared at them. Hermes raised his hands in a defensive innocent position. I rolled my eyes, and smacked the camera out of Apollo's hands.
Apollo's happy face didn't change as he bounded over to the mortal device on the floor. He made a big show of dusting it off. To stop him from making a bigger fool of himself, I took my spoon and threw it at the god.
I snorted when it nailed him in the back of the head. He just turned and pouted childishly at me. I guess this is why they're around, to build my emotions back up. They weren't that bad at it so kudos to them.
Everyone started jumping out of their seats, excited for the first day. Both my cousins sighed, and stood. Pulling my cat off the table, I slipped my bag over my shoulder and cradled the fur ball in my arms.
When I looked up, my cousins were gone. I sighed, wow I'm doing that a lot today, and started following the rest of the sixth years to Potions. I think we had it with Gryffindor, hopefully Harry and them were there.
Once I stepped outside the Great hall, a leg thrust itself out, but I neatly jumped over it. Then I landed on their toes. I snickered when I heard the muffled cursing, and continued on my way.
My face fell when the rest of the Gryffindors filed in. No sign of the golden trio, oh wait. At the last minute Hermione skipped through the doors. Relieved, I made my way towards her, but was stopped with an arm to my chest.
It was one of the body guards. Crabbe, no Goyle. I raised an eyebrow, and with my free hand, pinched the thumb of the hand and moved it away from my body. Then I continued on my way.
Hermione smiled when she saw me, and gestured for the seat next to her. I nodded, to show I know what she meant, gently setting Sally on the table. Hermione leaned down to kiss her head before looking at me.
"Are you okay?" She whispered to me worriedly.
I tilted my head in confusion,"Of course I am, why do you ask?"
Her eyes flickered over to Malfoy and them,"You were alone in the Slytherin house all night. I was concerned they'd do something to you because of Harry and Sirius."
I smiled gently at her,"Thank you, but I can handle the brainless folk."
Her lips curled into a smile at the obvious jibe. Our heads turned when we realized the chubby professor was talking. He started explaining the potions and stuff and the class expectations. Halfway through, Harry and Ron burst through the door.
Perfect, now I had all my friends in one class. I waved them over, once their little scuffle was over, they joined Hermione and I. After the little assign the potion it's name game, which was boring, we began the challenge.
"Do you need any help, Perce?" Hermes whispered indistinctly as he looked over my shoulder.
I grinned at him,"Since I could never read the words, I learned to memorize the potions."
Hermes pursed his lips impressed,"I guess that'll do. So you'll be fine?"
I took a deep breath,"Time will tell..."
Tell me what you think...
