I was scared. My heart was pounding out of my chest, the crowd surrounding me turned into faith mumbles. All I saw were figures, no faces, no traits... just figures. I was alone, spinning in circles looking for something familiar, when I saw you.
It was you. Seeing you in that crowd made me go blank, yet I was filled with every emotion possible. Everything came back, from the high fives you gave me to the midnight runs we had... everything came back. From the way, you made me feel in the beginning to the way you shattered my heart at the end. But most of all, the love. The love you made me feel was unforgettable.
Your love to me was a drug, and I was addicted. I was addicted to the butterflies you gave me, the way you held me, your eyes, but most of all that smile. That god-awful smile not only made me fall for you, but it broke me too. When I looked at you I couldn't help but smile, you were contagious. The beauty I saw in you made me feel as if this world wasn't a reality. Gazing in your eyes, I felt my stomach tie into knots, not knowing if they could ever be untangled. The bad part was, love is meant to be felt. The feeling I got when seeing you made me feel invincible. I could put you before me and never be able to think twice, yet you weren't able to do the same in the end. In the beginning, our bond couldn't be broken but it broke just as fast as we made it. We had the ability to prosper not only alone, but together in more ways than one. I wanted more for you than I wanted for myself, and that's where I went wrong.
The part I neglected to leave out was that you were with someone else. You know how I said your smile broke me? Well seeing that smile while looking into their eyes, broke me to a point of no recovery. You saw me in that crowd and you seemed stunned. The moment you looked at me I was staring into the face of fear. A fear so powerful I woke up. I woke up from that horrible dream to the sound of my alarm. It was 7:00 AM and you were beside me. It was all a dream.
