Where the Rainbow Ends

Chapter 5

I was in my room writing in my diary on what just happened back at Amethyst's house when somepony knocked on the door.

I wonder who could that be...

"Come in!" My mom opened the door with her magic. "Dear! It's time to eat! Come downstairs!" I immediately closed my diary and put it back on the shelf where it belonged. "Ok."

I passed my mom and at the corner of my eye I think I kind of saw her staring at me because she put on a pretty serious face while doing so.

When we were all at the table we started to eat. I raised the bowl of rice towards my plate to scoop some when my mom coughed. Obviously to get my attention.

I looked at her and she had a concerned face. "Sapphire, what's wrong? Is there anything bothering you?" I shook my head. Not because I didn't want to tell her but because of what I did.

"Mom it's just. How do you solve a friendship problem?!" Her expression shifted when I said that. She smirked and lifted my chin for me to look at her directly.

"Sapphire it's going to be alright. Look I know a Princess and her name is Princess Twilight Sparkle. She's the Princess of Friendship you see. So maybe you can go there for advice? Because I'm not saying that I'm not good at it but... just to be sure you know?"

I nodded my head. Then we both returned to our food and continued eating in silence. Later on my mom broke it by saying something. "Dear I just heard that you passed in your magic test and that you were qualified to go to Princess Celestia's School for gifted unicorns! You're in the intermediate level you know."

I smiled. "I already know mom. By the way I'm so sorry if I didn't get to tell you. It's just...I've been caught up in a few things lately and-" my mom put a hoof on my cheek. "I understand dear. Now are you going to finish eating or what?"

We both laughed and finished off on what was left on our plates.

After a while my mom told me to go upstairs and told me she would do the chores herself. Of course I tried tobreason with her that I should help but she didn't want to. I guess she wanted me to think about the problem.

Well Sapphire tomorrow you have got to go to Princess Twilight's castle because you need this.

I sighed. I flattened the sheet that was laid on my bed and fluffed the pillows so that they were free of bed bugs. Later on I turned on my lamp and switched off the lights. Then I drifted to sleep.
