CHAPTER 16
"Hey Brent." i said causally.
"H-he-hey." Brent stuttered. he was really pale.
"Why are you so pale?" i asked.
"Uh, no reason." he said rubbing his neck.
"Uhm, im going upstairs bye." he removed his hand from his neck and uncovered what looked like a hickey.
"IS THAT A HICKEY!" i said standing and shocked that my loser older brother has a hickey. he has never had a girlfriend before.
"No Mercedes. leave me alone." he said putting his hand back on his neck. I followed him because I wanted to know who this girl is.
"Oh come on Brent! Who is she. Wait wait wait, its a girl right?" i said sarcasitally
"Yes its a girl and no im not telling you." he said wlaking upstairs, i followed him.
"You just told me it wasn't a hickey. now it is, and now that i know it is i need to know who it is." i said infront of Brents door.
he slammed the door shut.
I walked downstairs to see Hayes laughing on the couch.
"whats so funny?" i asked him.
"you and brent." he said still laughing.
i realized that its Thrusday and tomorrow Hayes is leaving to Canada. what if he meets that whore Megan. me and megan used to be best friends until she got her first boyfriend. then she started thinking she owns the world and all who inhabit it. she would walk down the halls and flip he utterly perfect blonde hair and her gorgeous blue eyes would sparkle and her black big glasses tied off the whole look. Ugh i hate it. she started using everyone to get popular. soon enough she left me for her perfect boyfriend and plastic friends.
"well i better get home and start packing." Hayes said wiping his hands on his khakis,
"Well,bye I guess. I had fun knowing you." I said opening my arms for a hug.
When we both leaned in we bumped heads.. It was quite awkward.
"Mercedes, can I asked you something?" He asked looking at his feet.
"Sure." I said
"Are we still gonna be friends when I'm in Canada?" He asked,
"I hope." I said
"Good! I'll miss you." He told me
"I'll miss you too." I said hugging him again.
PYPERS POV!
I'm so confused, I don't know if Mercedes and Hayes are dating anymore, I'm pretty sure she hates me for staying at 'the cabin'. I was listening to her and Hayes' conversation when Brent came upstairs. He was as white as a ghost.
"Brent? Are you okay?" I asked,
"Yeah, I'm fine." He lied
"No your not, I've known you for 15 years, something wrong." I said sassyish
"It's nothing." He said waving me away.
"Brent! Tell me!" I whined.
"Fine! Come with me." He said pulling me into his room.
"Oh my god is that a hickey?" I asked
"Yes, but what I'm about to tell you is importa-"
"Oh my god that's a hickey holy crap! What lifeless soul gave you the hickey?" I asked interrupting him.
"Stop Pyper! This is important! You can't tell Nash until I figure out how to tell him!" He stated.
"Okay!" I promised.
"It was Alyssa." He said
My stomach dropped. I stood up,
"Wait! Alyssa as in Nash's girlfriend Alyssa? I said shocked
"Yes but it's fine. It was a one time thing. She has Nash and I have Aaliyah." He said
"Mendes?" I asked referring as in Aaliyah Mendes, Shawn Mendes little sister.
"No! Ew Pyper!" He said in disgust.
"Sorry." I said trying not to laugh.
Just then I got a call from Mercedes, god she's so lazy, she's downstairs and I'm upstairs, what a bum.
"Hey sis." I said
"Hey, so uh Hayes left, and I don't know if I should still wanna keep in touch with him or try a keep away, I'm worried he's gonna meet Megan." She told me.
"Did he ask to keep in touch?" I asked,
"Yeah, well then before he leaves tomorrow ask what city he is staying in, if it's the same city Megan is in, keep your distance, if not stay in touch." I told her.
"Okay thanks Pyper. Do you wanna come watch Modern Family with me?" She asked,
"Sure one sec." I said
"K." She said hanging up.
Brent was hyperventilating over the whole Alyssa, Nash, Aaliyah thing.
"I'm gonna go watch tv with Cedes. Don't do anything stupid okay." I told him.
"Okay. Bye." He said with a slight wave.
When I got downstairs I noticed something on Mercedes arm.
"Uh Mercedes?"
