If you've Made It This Far, May The Force Be With You. ;D
Chapter Fourteen:
We had the radio blasting, and the sun shining brightly down on Olivia and I. I’ve hung out with Olivia sometimes, but not a lot this year due to Marcus. It was nice to even have a girl day. It was also a perfect first day of Spring Break. Olivia was flipping through magazines, as I turned over unto my stomach.
“So, how is Marcus?” Olivia asked, trying to make conversation.
“Alright, Kyle’s just getting in the way.” I fixed my pink sunglasses. Her head snapped over to me, as her eyebrows rose higher and higher.
“Kyle’s getting in the way? What do you mean by that?”
“Just it looks like he doesn’t like us together.”
“Farah, that’s because he’s your best friend.”
“What do you mean?” I asked, rolling over to face her.
“Are you blind? He’s clearly in love with you!”
I scoffed. “What?”
She rolled her eyes, and changed the page of the magazine.
“Well, I think I love Marcus.” I told her, smiling. Olivia threw down the magazine.
“No!” She squealed. “Yes!” My stomach did a flip.
“Wait ‘til he tells you first. We all know he loves you, Farah.” I bit my lip, and looked at the clear blue water. “The time is now!” She whispered yelled, hitting me in the shoulder. I looked up, and saw Marcus. He smiled, and traveled to the chair beside me. I sat up, and he kissed my cheek. Olivia started whistling, and I laughed at her. Marcus stood up, pulling off his shirt, reviling his six-pack. He jumped into the pool, splashing both of us.
Marcus yelled, “Come on in!” I shook my head no, and walked over to where we had all of our towels. I didn’t hear Marcus, but the next thing I knew, I was picked up and thrown into the water. “Hey!” I screamed, laughing. Marcus jumped in after me. When I looked up at the moment, I saw Kyle come from the fence that separates both of our houses. He smiled when he saw me, but it quickly faded at the sight of Marcus. Kyle just shrugged over to my seat by Olivia, and sat down. He completely ignored the both of us, and began flirting with Olivia. After a while, his phone chimed, and he stood up. Kyle said goodbye to Olivia, and not us. Olivia waved at him bye, and he left.
Olivia went back to looking at her magazine, and then she checked the time. “Oh! I have to go; my personal trainer is probably waiting. See you at school after Spring Break!” I nodded.
“Thanks for coming!” I quickly yelled after her as she headed to her car. She waved back and got in her vehicle, pulling out of my driveway. I got out, grabbing another towel. Marcus did the same and followed me inside. I went upstairs to change, and Marcus just sat down on the couch.
**
Marcus was downstairs in my house as I was changing. I put on yellow short shorts, and a glittery gray tank top. I placed a neon blue cut off blouse that read ‘Love’ on it over the tank top. I looked into the mirror, and braided my wet crazy hair into a side braid. After I was happy on what I looked like, I grabbed my iPhone and stuffed it into my back pocket, heading back down stairs.
“You look cute.” Marcus said, as I sat beside him. He pulled me unto his lap and I rested my head unto his shoulder. I got up from his lap, and grabbed my bag full gummy bears. He opened his mouth, and I stuck one in his mouth. “What’s your favorite part of a gummy bear?” I asked him.
“Belly,” He said with a questioning look. I was disappointed at his answer. I thought for at least one second, he’ll say head like Kyle. Of all times in the day, I would think of Kyle. I love the head, and so does Kyle. But does that even matter? So Marcus likes the belly instead of head. It doesn’t kill anything, Farah! I smiled at Marcus, and popped another bear in my mouth. Marcus grabbed my face and crashed his lips to mine. I kissed him back, and the gummy bears fell out of my hand. I gasped and pulled away looking at the mess I just made. I shrugged at myself and began to clean them up. I heard the front door open, and I looked up to see Kyle. He walked in like he owned the place with a girl. Oh, it was Gillian! I could recognize her from anywhere. She’s so pretty, with her long auburn hair down to mid waist.
I smiled at them, and got back up unto the couch. Kyle still had on his swim trunks, and his hair was all messed up. “Hey you guys!” I happily greeted them. Gillian quietly said hi and sat down on the couch that was facing us on the other side of the room. Kyle excused himself, and ran up the stairs. I looked after him wondering what he was doing in my room. Knowing he just left his girl on the couch. Rued much? After ten minutes of him not coming down, I excused myself from the random topic about zombies. I opened my bedroom door, and walked in.
“Hey Kyle,” But I stopped half sentence, and covered my eyes. Kyle was standing in my bathroom, naked. He obviously just took a shower, since he was dripping wet, but I didn’t want to know that answer. I quickly turned away.
“Oh my gosh, Kyle! You could’ve told me you were going to take a shower. Now I’m scarred.” I yelled at him, my heart rate was at a million.
Kyle walked out, wrapping a towel around his waist. “Okay.” He said, and removed my hands from my face. Kyle stood inches away from me, practically naked, and he was acting normal. Yeah we use to take baths together when we were kids, but those stopped long ago!
“It’s funny knowing when guys walk in on girls, they don’t freak out. They enjoy it, and laugh. But when girls walk in on guys, they do freak out. And scream, covering their eyes.” Kyle said smirking.
“Well duh, Kyle!” I said angrily. He chuckled to himself, walking over to my dresser. He pulled out the bottom drawer. He practically lives at my house, so he has extra pair of clothes in my dresser. I rolled my eyes at him, and walked slowly down the stairs. The mental image of Kyle naked is now in my brain forever. Even though he did look good… Snap out of it, Farah! I sighed frustratingly at myself, and turned the corner of the stairs. Then I saw another disturbing scene. This time, my heart fell out of me.
