Catholic School Cover-Up

This story is a personal one of mine, that began in October of the year 2009. I was six years old at that time, and I was going to Monte Cassino Catholic Benedictine Elementary School. I was in kindergarden at the time. And that school was the ONLY school in our small town that had Nuns living on campus. Other school had priest living on campus, and ours did as well. But we were the only one with actual nuns.

The nuns were in charge of the school. They decided who was hired, and which kids got held back, and what class rooms a child was assinged to. Among other things. And when I was in Kindergarden there, there was this one nun, who was like the IN CHARGE one, named Sister Mary Claire. And she had been in charge for about the past thirty years.

Our theory begins, when the Catholic School System, announced that she would be 'retiring from being a nun' because it was to much pressure on her, and she was just to old. And when I say retiring from being a nun, I don't just mean, she handed the torch down, for another younger nun, to handle everything at the school. She like just quit being a nun. And if a nun was to get to old, why would they just stop being a nun all together? Why not just stay in bed and pray for the rest of their days?

Not only did she retire from being a nun, but she left the campus as well. She stopped living in the convent. And didn't even move to another convent, from what I have been told. It was almost like she went into hiding. And I over heard some teachers at school once saying she was in an old folks home, and didn't even have her robes any more. And not even a single cross on a wall.

So why would she stop being a nun? Well truth be told I do not know. But I know there was a reason that they did not tell the kids at our school. And only a handful of teachers. And my mother was very close to the school teachers, so I suspect one of the teachers told her something, and she told other school moms. Because on multiple occansions I overheard her talking with another parent from school, and she will say something like: 

"I still think about it even to this day, how horrible that woman was. And wonder how the Catholic Schools could keep her working there for as long as she did. It is a blessing she is finally gone, after what she did to that family."

And yes I know they were refeering to her, because in all the years I went to that school, only five other teachers left. And it was not for sketchy reasons like that. It may have been because of a job offer or something. And even after they left people still heard things from them, they didn't like just go off the map.

So about what she might have done. As I stated earlier, I constantly heard my mother (and other parents/teachers for that matter) Saying things like, "After what she did to that family". I have 2 theories on this.

One is pretty obvious. She may have molested a child. And I believe I know not what child, but what family, it happened to. Because they were like one of the RICHEST familys in town, and a year later, they left the schools, and switched to public school. And It wasn't a money issue, they owned like a mall or something. And not only did they leave the public schools, but people said they left the church also, and started going to Life Church. As if they were trying to seperate themselves from the Catholic community all together. And also they never sold their house, so it wasn't a commute thing either.

The second theory is she had something to do with a money problem at the school. So when I was in Kindergarden, I remember people saying that the school was planning on buying some of the houses in the neighborhood next to the school, so they could add on an aquatics center. And it wasn't just some little rumor, even the teachers were legit telling us about it, and it was an actual plan in motion. But then that summer, the one right before she left, the school randomly lost a ton of money. They even switched to a cheaper cattering service in the cafteteria, and had to lay off some teachers. And going back to the family that may have been a victim, in this situation, they were HUGE funders of the school. So I think, that maybe instead of putting it into the school, Sister Mary Claire, may have done something else with their donation.

Now please remember that this is just a theory. And a little far fetched at that. But it may also explain why she left, and their was such sketchy explanations as to why. And in the Catholic School community in my town had, had some other sketchy things going on with them. Like at another schoolm a kid allegidly jumped out of one of the bell towers in a church (that was on school property) to his death. So if this was true, then it wouldn't be that surprising, because they aren't one time offenders.

So that is the end of this theory my lovelies.
