My family drove down the steep driveway I have seen many times before. We were at my favorite cousin's house (Kathryn Horvath) and I was so exited! So exited that jumped in my seat and peered out the window. As the car stopped, Audrey and I pushed open the doors, unbuckled our seat belts, and ran up the stone steps. I pulled on the the door, but it was locked. So I knocked, as usual. Still, no one came. By then, my whole family was standing by the door, staring.
"Now what do we do?" I asked.
"I guess we can get through a window somewhere." My dad replied, looking around.
I smiled mischievously. Audrey said, "Are we seriously going to brake into our own family's house?" My dad nodded.
"Jonathan!" My mom scolded.
"Lets go!!" I yelled.
And we went. But could find no windows we could open. Finally, my dad and I walked over to a tree. My dad climbed up the tree, then I followed.
"Climb up." my dad said, holding his hands out.
I obeyed and climbed onto his shoulders. I pushed and pulled at the window, but it wouldn't budge.
We both sighed and climbed down. We walked over to my mom and Audrey.
"Any luck?" I asked.
"Nope." They replied.
We all walked up to the back patio and sat down for a few moments to think.
"Pick me up," I ordered to my dad. "Please." I added quickly.
"Where?"
"There." I pointed to a small bump-out that led to the roof, and another window connecting to Kathryn's window.
"I I get up there, then I can open that open window and get in." I explain to my family.
"We can try." My dad replied.
My mom sighed and shook her head. Audrey was just staring.
"Ok let's see." My dad hoisted me up on to the bump-out and I scrambled up the roof. Just then, the Horvath's just drove down the drive way. The has very confused looks on their faces. My family froze. I sheepishly waved, still on top of the roof. After they parked and got out of their car, they walked back up the hill and helped me get down from the roof. We all went inside and we all took turns explaining what happened.
"Just leave a key somewhere next time!" Audrey complained, jokingly.
