Belle watched them all, leaning on the counter, sipping her coffee.
They had popped into the shop to grab the picnic blanket and basket, before getting food at Granny's and heading to the shop but as usual their plans were scuppered by the Charming's and a crisis.
Belle rested her cheek on her palm and watched them all stood in together at the front of the shop. Regina look serious but flawless as always, her hands on her hips, then the Charming's stood holding each other looking tense whilst Emma stood opposite Rumple, pointing at a piece of paper.
She sighed, whirling the last centimetres of coffee left in her mug. This always seemed to happen. Her and Rumple make plans and then the Charming's come running for help. I guess it's a good thing, they are trusting him more. Well, do they? Or do they just need his magic? As the dark one he is the most powerful person in the town, even more so than Emma or Regina.
For the millionth time he peered round at her, anxious that she was annoyed. Each time Belle would smile and let him know she was okay, and he'd relax a little, only to tense up again a minute or two later and turn again.
Belle always felt a little sad when this happened, as they never included her. They all thought she was useless, yet whenever they needed some information or translation or something like that, they came to her. A rarity, that she ever got a thank you. She sighed, thinking herself way to sensitive.
Belle cleared her throat,
"Can I get anyone a drink?" She asked politely, straightening up.
"No thank you my darling," was the only reply she got from Rumple along with a few shaken heads.
Belle nodded and gave a meek smile before heading into the back room, she certainly needed another coffee if she was going to wait around much longer.
She switched on the kettle and spooned some coffee into her mug, before adding milk and whisking the two together. Deciding she needed sugar she twisted of the lid but before she could, two hands smoothed against her waist and a chin rested on her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, my love..." Rumple whispered into her ear.
Belle smiled as he started to plant soft kisses in the crease of her shoulder.
"What are you apologising for?" She smiled, continuing to sugar her coffee and milk mixture.
"Plans ruined...once again..."
It made Belle slightly happier to know that he had picked up on that fact as well.
"It's not your fault, it's good they are asking you for help," Belle said, filling her mug with hot water.
"...Mhhh...but...i'd rather...be...with you..." he said in-between kisses.
She turned around and he caressed her hips with his thumbs.
Belle sighed and ran her hand through his hair,
"Really, it's okay, we still have plenty of time," she smiled, reassuringly.
Rumple peered behind him at the curtain separating the shop from the room they were standing in.
"We could always..." He said, pulling Belle closer to him suggestively.
"Rumple!" Belle squealed, "they're just out there! The curtain isn't sound proof you know!" she giggled and tried to push him away as he started to kiss her neck.
"Rumple!" She laughed, "stop it they could walk in any moment!"
But he couldn't keep his hands off her. He loved her so much that he couldn't bare it when people came between them and she got disappointed. Even if she said she was alright, Rumple still felt bad and that he had to make it up to her.
Now it was Belle's turn to not be able to resist her husband. Her hand went to his cheek and guided his lips to hers.
He pushed her body more and more into his own and kissed her passionately, both of them in their little bubble of love.
"Ahem..."
Regina clearing her throat made them both snap their heads in that direction.
"Sorry to, uh, interrupt," she said, widening her eyes and looking at the floor, making them well aware how uncomfortable she was.
Rumple smirked a little at that, he didn't mind a bit that she felt awkward. People said he would never find love and yet he was stood with his hands on the hips of his true love. How wrong he had proven them.
Belle was trying hard not to giggle and was looking down biting her lip.
"I'd better get back," Rumple said softly, planting a kiss on her cheek, giving her a squeeze before gesturing for Regina to go back through.
The curtain fell and they both disappeared.
Belle leant backwards on the counter and placed her hands on her hot pink cheeks and laughed.
Well, that makes the waiting a little more worthwhile, she smiled.
