miranda kerr as Millie
________________________________" here are you keys, to your apartment and mailbox "
The landlord hands be two golden keys on a silver circle chain. Saying thank you I take my keys and walk into my new home.
Hanging my keys on the hook by the door, I slide off my shoes and take a walk around my little apartment. The first thing I enter is the living room.
The truck mover already moved my things in, and the only thing that sits in the small room is a small black leather couch that Mrs Mary didn't need anymore. I have no tv, which is fine since I mostly spend my time reading or working at a small coffee shop a block away.
Walking out the living room I turn to the left and walk down the hall. On the right side is a small white door leading to the bathroom and a door at the end of the hall is my bedroom.
A small window sits next to the queen sized bed and a black dresser sits across from the bed against the wall.
My stomach grumbles as I walk out the bedroom down the hall to the kitchen connecting to the living room. My feet hit the cold white tiles, as I open the refrigerator to see only a jar of pickles.
Sighing I close the refrigerator, grabbing my wallet of the counter, walking to the door and sliding on my shoes, grabbing my keys I lock the door behind me. walking down the two flights of stairs as the lights buzzes and flickers.
The warm summer air breezes across my face as I walk outside. The street lights flickers a little as I walk down the street to McDonald's.
My eyes scan my surroundings on high alert. Looking at the tall brick buildings with spray paint of words.
Padding across the concrete, I spot the McDonald's sign high in the air. My stomach growls making it known that it sees what I see. Opening the doors the air conditioning fans my face.
" hello, welcome to McDonald's " a chirpy young lady at the counter says.
Giving her a small smile, I look up at the menu searching for something that's on my budget.
" may I have a double cheese burger no onions, no pickles, a small fry and sweet tea please " I ask politely while she rings up my total.
" 4.50 is your total ma'am " looking in my wallet I pull out a five dollar bill and hand it to her.
She gives me the recipe, with the number 485 and I take a seat in a booth next to the window.
Staring out the window I see dark grey clouds form above. Lightening shots through the sky as the wind blows threw the trees making the branches hit the window.
Silently wishing they would hurry up, with my food so I can go home and not get caught in the rain. For fuck sakes there called a fast-food restaurant for a reason.
Tapping foot impatiently , I stare out the window as the clouds get darker.
" 485 " the lady yells making me jump up and get my food and drink.
" thank you " was all I said as I rushed out the door, speed walking down the street.
I tilted my head up as I felt little drizzles drop on my forehead. I pushed myself to go fast seeing my apartment in view.
As soon as I stepped in the building, rain started pounding down on the concrete, as lighting started shooting through the sky. The dark clouds crowded together blocking the blue sky and sun from view.
I sigh in relief walking up the two flights of stairs, taking out my keys and walking into my apartment.
Taking of my shoes, I hang my keys on the hook and walk to the kitchen putting my McDonald's bag on the counter and sitting my drink in the refrigerator.
I pull my light brown curly hair into a messy bun, as some honey blonde strands slip out making me tuck them behind my ear.
Washing my hands and grabbing my bag I head to the living room sitting in the cold leather couch.
You would think that I should be use to being alone. Just being by myself. But I guess I'm not, some part of me wishes to have to friends, to be able to go to parties and just have fun.
But my only friend left me 7 years ago, my parents didn't want me and neither did anyone else. I guess I really am meant to be alone.
School starts next week, my last year and I'm not looking forward to going back. The kids there aren't the nicest, they call me names, and try to get to me. But I never once let them get to me, I never once let them step on me and that will never change. Because growing up, with no one to defend me taught me how to defend myself. And in the long run it helped.
But Really I just keep to myself, trying to make the best grades to go to a college far away from here; anywhere.
Taking a bite out of my double cheeseburger and feeling the greasy food hit my tastebuds making my stomach stop growling.
I devour the rest of my food, throwing away my trash and going in the refrigerator to get out my sweet tea. Leaning against the counter I let the sweet cold liquid slid down my throats enjoying the taste.
Once I'm finish I throw the cup away and turn if the lights heading towards my bedroom down the hall.
Taking off my clothes, I slip on a large shirt before climbing into bed and staring at my white ceiling.
Memories try to invade my head, as I lay in bed. But I block them out not wanting to remember the things that brought pain to my life.
Turning over I close my eyes and and let darkness take over.
