Chapter One~Zayn

As we walked down the streets of London, we were recognized left and right. Paul said we could wave, but no pictures or hugs. Just smile and wave boys, smile and wave. When we passed by an orphanage, I look at the little playground. That is where I saw her. A little girl no more than four with long blonde bouncy curls and hazel eyes. I stopped our little group and pointed her out.

"Oh my goodness, Zayn! She's so precious!" Louis squealed.

"She looks so sad," Liam commented.

"Probably because she's so skinny. Do you think they feed them enough?" asked Niall.

"Lads, let's adopt her!" Harry exclaimed.

"There's an idea, Haz!" I said, pulling out my phone. I called management, and they said they needed to talk about it and would get back to us in an hour. "Alright boys, we've an hour to kill."

"Let's go play with the orphans!" Louis almost shouted. Paul rolled his eyes as we all went onto the playground and started playing with them. I walked up to the little girl and introduced myself.

  "Hi there, my name's Zayn."

  "Hi Zayn. I'm Emma."

"How long have you been here sweetheart?"

"Ms. Robin said my mummy and daddy left me here when I was one month old."

"And how old are you sweetie?"

"I'm free," she said, holding up three fingers. She's been in this awful place for three years.

"Wanna play tag with my friends and the other kids?" She nodded excitedly, and I grabbed her hand. I gathered the lads, and proposed a game of tag.

"Kids, we're playing tag! Who wants to play?" Louis shouted. All of the kids raised their hands, and the game commenced. I tagged Louis first, and everyone ran away. He caught one of the kids, and it just got really crazy. For being somewhat miserable, these kids really know how to have fun. The lady called the children inside, and we went to the front of the building to wait for management's call. About ten minutes after, my phone rang.

  "Hello?"

"Zayn, it's Simon. Management talked it over and decided that you can adopt the girl. It would be great for your image, and can teach you boys responsibility."

"Thank you so much!" I said excitedly.

"No problem Zayn. Now go get the kid." He hung up, and I put the phone back in my pocket. The lads and I entered the orphanage through the doors, and walked up to the front desk. The lady walked out from the back, and sat down at the desk.

"Hello gentlemen, how may I help you?"

"We want to adopt a child," I said. She smiled big, and opened up a book.

"Which one would you like?" I looked through the book until I found the photo of Emma. I pointed at her and the woman smiled even bigger. "I'll go get her. In the meantime, here are the adoption papers. You sign as her legal guardian, and the rest of you sign as her god parents." She excitedly went up the stairs as we started filling out the adoption papers. Moments later, she came back with Emma in tow. She had a little bag with clothes and shoes, and a little stuffed koala in her arms. When we finished the paperwork, the lady filed it and gave us her birth certificate.

"Congratulations boys, it's a girl," she said grinning. Emma smiled and hugged my knees. I picked her up, and Harry got her bag. I'm a dad.
