"Welcome to my crib." Jungkook spoke monotonously as we exited the vehicle that had picked us up at Busan airport.
My eyes almost fell out of their sockets as I eyed up his so called 'crib'.
If I'd thought the mansion was huge, this place was enormous beyond words. However, whereas the mansion had an old-fashioned design - resembling a modest little palace - this place was ultramodern. It was almost entirely white, its shape indescribable. It was surrounded by tall, wooden walls, with a path of symmetrical green bushes leading to its entrance.
My eyes widened even more as two black, quite large dogs came running towards us, barking loudly. I was about to defend myself, but quickly relaxed as Jungkook's eyes lit up at the sight of them.
"James, Dean, hi!" Jungkook smiled broadly as he crouched down to pet the two dogs, who eagerly licked his face. I felt something tug on my heart as he continued to laugh out loud while his dogs continued to attack his face.
I held my breath as one of the dogs walked over to sniffle my hand while an older man came out of the house, dressed in black attire.
"Hi." I spoke softly to the dog as I tried to pet him. I had never actually touched an animal like this, and was surprised at how soft he was and how excited he got when I let my hands slide through his long fur. I giggled as the second dog joined us, jealous of the attention. I pet them both as Jungkook whined from above me.
"Dean, James, what is? I bring a girl home and you're all over her? Haven't you missed me a slightly bit these couple of months?" He tried to look stern but couldn't help but chuckle as the two massive dogs completely overthrew me with their weight and enthusiasm, knocking me down on the floor.
However, his smile faltered quickly as the man approached us. "Daneul." Jungkook greeted him with a small nod.
"Jungkook-sii." The other man greeted him back before speaking to him in Korean.
I noticed Jungkook seemed quite rude during the conversation, even though supposedly Daneul seemed like a friendly person, having soft greying hair and slight wrinkles around his eyes and mouth, indicating him to smile often. Their conversation shifted as their eyes focused on me, and I heard my name fall from Jungkook's lips. I noticed Daneul was about to speak to me but he was stopped as Jungkook asked another question. Daneul seemed to be hesitating to answer, finally saying something carefully, making a certain emotion flash Jungkook's features before his gaze darkened again. He sighed deeply before turning around and storming into the huge mansion, leaving me behind in confusion.
"Sorry, Miss." Daneul addressed me with a heavy accent. "I had to tell him his parents are both abroad. They don't see him very often." He smiled sadly at me as he reached out his hand for me to grab.
I accepted his offer, allowing him to pull me up. "I'm Daneul, the butler of the Jeon family." He explained. "Jungkook told me your name is Gabrielle?"
I nodded. "That's right. Nice to meet you, Daneul."
"Likewise." Daneul gave another of his warming smiles. "I've known Jungkook since he was a baby, but he's never brought a jagiya home!" He smiled even more broad while he offered to carry my backpack which I refused.
"Jagiya?" I questioned him as we walked towards the mansion's entrance.
"Yes, ehm, what's the English word for yeoja chingu... Girlfriend!" Daneul exclaimed as he held the door open for me.
"Oh, yes." I mumbled as I stumbled inside. "So he's never brought a girl here before?" That fact left me quite surprised, since Jungkook was an infamous player.
