Life is Never Fair

Wedding Bells

I honestly hated my life so much right now. Why couldn't I have had parents that were simple commoners. I stood there staring at myself in my wedding dress, how I wished that the one I was marrying today was Killian and not Robin.

Although Robin is as miserable as me, he has been nothing but sweet. He knows what this union means so he's being a gentleman and treating me with all the utmost respect. I sigh as I put my veil on. That's when Robin walks up to me. I laugh when I see him. "You know it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding." He laughs.

"Maybe we can use some." I laugh. "Emma I will try my best to make you happy, I know these past four months haven't been easy but together we can make our kingdoms great." I nod. "I promise too Robin, I will try my best to make you happy." He smiles. He grabs my hand and kisses it. I smile.

"And together we will form a family." He nods. "Yes we will Emma." I smile. That's when we hear the music start. We both sigh. "See you out there Emma." I nod. I looked out the window and I sighed. I can't believe Robin and I are getting married without our parents being present, well I mean it's best that way I guess.

I take a look at the horizon and I see a ship in the distance. If only I could get on that ship and sail away from this horrible life. I hear the bell announcing that bride is coming. I sighed. I grabbed my bouquet and made my way down to the garden space.

I walked down the aisle alone and made my way up to the altar. Robin grabbed my hand and gave me a soft smile. I nod and smile. The ceremony continued and my did it feel like it was taking forever. That's when we get to the "I do's." That's when the minister asks us to face each other and hold each other's hands.

"Do you, Robin, take Emma to be your wife, to cherish in friendship and love today, tomorrow, and for as long as the two of you live, to trust and honor her, to love her faithfully, through the best and the worst, whatever may come, and if you should ever doubt, to remember your love for each other and the reason why you came together with her this day?"

Robin closed his eyes and sighed. Then he gave me another soft smile. "I do." I half smiled and nodded.

"Do you, Emma, take Robin to be your husband, to cherish in friendship and love today, tomorrow and for as long as the two of you live, to trust and honor him, to love him faithfully, through the best and the worst, whatever may come, and if you should ever doubt, to remember your love for each other and the reason why you came together with him this day?"

I half smile and nod. "I do." Robin smiled and caressed my hand. "By the power vested in me...." That's when we hear commotion behind us. "Stop the wedding!" I over hear two people scream. We turned around and let go of each other's hands.

My heart soared when I saw Killian and Regina, the one that Robin loves. I smiled then I sighed. Even though my ultimate wish came true it's best that they hadn't come. "You can't marry him Emma." I sigh. "Killian please don't make this harder I have to marry Robin, our parents arranged this." They both walk over towards us and they stare at us. "I love you Emma," he says. "And I love you Robin," Regina says.

Robin and I stood there trying to look away from their gazes. There was just an awkward silence throughout the whole place. I looked at Robin and he just held my hand and smiled. Then I saw a tear fall down. "I love you too Killian," I said, "And I love you too Regina," Robin said then sighed. "But Emma and I have to get married." I started to cry and they both stared at us in shock.

"Please don't," Killian said as his voice was shaking. "Please leave don't make this harder," Robin said. I was just crying and I could just see the pain in Killian's eyes. "I'm sorry," I mouthed to him. Some knights came and started to take them away, they didn't make a fuss and that just killed me. They walked away and they hugged each other, I wondered why.

I knew their hearts were broken but why did Killian hug her. We both turned around and continued with the ceremony. We were both crying and holding hands but we had a duty to our people and this wedding had to go through. The minister continues and that's when we hear, "stop the wedding!" We turn around and so do Killian and Regina. We then see that it's our parents. "This wedding is cancelled," my father says.

Then Robin's dad smiles. "Emma, Robin, you are free to marry whom ever your hearts desires." We look at each other confused, I don't think twice and I let go of Robin's hand and I kiss him on the cheek and smiled, "thank you for everything." I run towards Killian and he's just smiling. I hug him and he hugs me back tightly. "I love you," he says. Then he kisses me and I'm just crying as he's kissing me.

Regina walks past us and she walks towards Robin who's still standing in front all confused. "So," she says. Robin smiles and pulls her in and kisses her. Everyone in the audience were so confused as to what was going on. My father then goes and gets their attention. "I'm sorry everyone but we had forced our children to marry each other even though they didn't love each other because of a stupid law."

"You can all leave and thank you for your time." I am just hugging Killian as tight as I can. I didn't want to let go. Robin and Regina walk back to where we were at and gave us a big smile. Our parents stood there and apologized to us. "We are so sorry for what we made you guys do," my dad says. "Yes, and seeing that you two were going to get married that only proved to us more that you do love your kingdoms." I smile.

"That proved to us that you were willing to put your love of Regina and Killian aside so we decided well with a little help from them of course that you don't have to get married and you can be with the ones you love," Robin's dad said. We all smiled and just hugged each other. Robin and Regina walk towards the ship as Killian and I walked away but went towards the other side of the castle.

He smiles at me. "My you look lovely in that dress." I smiled then sighed. "I'm sorry for what I said earlier, I just." He then caressed my cheek. "I understand, you were doing it for your kingdom, you will make a fine queen someday." I smile and he hugs me. "So what's in store for us now that we are free to love each other?"  He smiles, "who knows I didn't think I was going to reach this far into the plan." I laugh and he hugs me.

"I love you Emma." I smile.

"And I love you Killian."
