I woke up with the sun beaming through the half open curtains onto my face. It's warmth was comforting. I almost didn't realise where I was until I turned over to find Brooklyn lying next to me. He was still fast asleep, his breathing slow. I decided to follow the sounds of muffled laughter downstairs to leave Brooklyn in peace. As i climbed off the bed I was reminded of the great big gash down my leg. I sat back down on the edge of the bed until the pain had ceased. I got back up, although still in great pain from my leg, and walked out of Brooklyn's room and down the stairs.
I reached the bottom stair and was met with two smiling faces, their mouths covered in chocolate sauce. I wished at that moment that I could have had a younger brother like Romeo or Cruz. They had both certainly inherited the good-looks genes from their parents and they were ever so cute!
Romeo beckoned for me to follow him and Cruz into the kitchen. I ran along behind the two boys through the hallway and into the kitchen before they scampered off through another doorway at the back of the kitchen. The Beckham's kitchen was amazing. For starters, it was absolutely huge and had literally every single cooking appliance a chef could wish for. The cupboards were a plastic type material covered in a glossy black finish, the oven and hob were also black gloss and the sink and most of the other electrical appliances were a shiny silver colour. The whole finish was ultra-modern: No doubt that Victoria had had a large input on the styling.
I was met with a hug from Victoria and a wave from David. I literally just stood in awe as I realised what had just happened. Victoria Beckham had just hugged me. THE Victoria Beckham: aka the best style icon ever and member of one of my favourite girl bands of all time. She must have noticed the oh-my-goodness expression plastered across my face because she laughed and said:
"Not everyday you meet a Spice Girl huh?"
"Um no, I never really thought it would ever happen to me to be honest." I replied, trying to keep the sheer anxiety and excitement from my voice.
"You know, I can get you some tickets for a meet and greet that the girls and I are doing in a few weeks time. I can probably get the girls to hang around a little while after too so that you can meet them properly if you like." Victoria suggested.
I couldn't help but let out a little squeal of excitement. "Oh my goodness! Yes please if that's okay! Thank you so much Victoria, I've been a massive fan of the spice girls since like forever and your fashion line is just to die for!"
"Awh you're welcome dear! It's such a nice change to have someone that actually appreciates my music and fashion taste in this house! Hey you know what, I have a new summer collection showcase evening coming up later this month. How would you feel about coming to the showcase with me and then i've got a few more clothing line launches that you could come to too if that takes your fancy." Victoria smiled.
"That would be amazing, Yes please! Thank you so much Victoria!"
"Honestly Em, it's not a problem! Now would you like some breakfast?"
"Yes please" I replied.
It suddenly occurred to me that I hadn't even let my parents know that I was at Brooklyn's house. They didn't even know about my injury. I mentally prepared myself for a massive telling off when I got home, and possibly being grounded for a few weeks. I explained to Victoria and David about the situation and I was relieved when Victoria told me that she'd been in contact with my mum and that everything was fine. I was even more surprised to hear that my mum, Toby's mum and Victoria had been meeting for coffees and were in fact going shopping the following weekend. At least it would save me from that telling off i had feared.
After finishing a bowl of cheerios, a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice and a slice of buttered toast. I followed Victoria into the lounge to find David playing fifa with the boys on their xbox. Victoria, who had insisted that I should just call her Vic, had already phoned ahead to check if it was okay with my parents for me to stay the day at their house: which it was. With the boys laughing in the background, Vic and I looked through her clothing line catalogues. I wish I had a fashion sense like her.
At about half past ten, Brooklyn poked his head round the lounge door. Our eyes met and he smiled. I noticed that he was holding Harper and couldn't help but think about what a sweet and caring brother he was. He came and sat down next to me, at the same time handing Harper over to Vic who took her out of the room for breakfast.
"Morning" he smiled.
"Morning" I replied.
"You're still in your football kit I see."
I had completely forgotten that i was still wearing my football shirt and shorts. I felt so embarrassed.
"Oh um yeah, I didn't really have anything to change into" I replied.
He laughed."Fair enough. It looks nice on you anyway."
"Awh Thank you Brook."
