Later in the afternoon, the weather was gloomy. Gabriel along with his workers was busy finishing their work before the rain started. Afterwards, they left and Manong Bert walked towards him.

"Sir mabuti nalang at natapos natin agad ilipat ang mga naharvest natin. Idedeliver nalang ang mga to bukas sa bayan." He said, after placing the basket on the ground.

"Oo nga eh. Mabuti nalang. Salamat sa inyo."

"Kami nga po dapat ang magpasalamat sa inyo kasi Sir Gabriel napakabuti niyo pong tao."

"Salamat! Sana nga nakikita ng iba yun." He uttered and thought about Marian.

"Anong ibig niyo pong sabihin Sir?" He asked curiously.

"Wala! Never mind." He refused.

"Oo nga pala Sir mauna na po ako sa inyo kasi ipaghahanda pa po namin ang bunso ko sa kanyang birthday."

"Oo nga pala! Yung inaanak Kong si Marie. Ilang taon na nga siya?"

"Walong taon po. Punta po kayo Sir kung gusto niyo." He invited him.

"Ah! Dalaga na pala." He smiled and get something inside his pocket, then handed it to him. "Ito! Pambili ng cake at kahit ano ang gusto niya. Pakisabi na lang happy birthday. Pero hindi ako makakapunta." He retorted.

"Naku maraming salamat Sir Gabriel. Okay lang po. Ang bait niyo talaga."

"Walang ano man. Sige na at baka maabutan kapa ng ulan."

"Pano po kayo Sir? Hindi pa ba kayo uuwi?

"Uuwi na rin after this." He transferred the last batch of basket inside their small storage house which was made with bamboo and nipa.

"Ah! Sige po sir mauna na po ako. Ingat din po kayo sa pag uwi." He bid to him.

When Mang Bert left, Gabriel continued to transfer the remaining fruits and vegetables inside the basket. He paused for a while, and staring blankly at the empty basket thinking about Marian. A smile form in his face when he remembered what happened last night. "You still made the best coffee." He thought.

He continued his tasked when he caught someone's watching over him from afar. He frowned, making a paused for a moment. He didn't know that someone was staring him from a far the whole time without him knowing. He slowly walk closer towards that person as soon as he identified her. "Marian?" He muttered softly. He saw her wiped the verge of her tears.

They stared at each other for a while before she decided to turn her back and walk away. He felt a certain tension in her eyes that it made him wonder what it was all about.

He followed after her. "Marian." He called her but she hurriedly walk and continued her way. "Yan sandali lang" He speed up.

It somehow made her feel bad, knowing that he followed her. "Pabayaan mo ako." She replied coldly, this time she run.

But Gabriel didn't bother to stop. He continued following her. Instead he run after her too, when he was near, Gabriel pulled her from the back, locked her in his arms. This made her stop. "Yan" he whispered, trying to figure out her reaction.

She closed her eyes and held back her tears as she sigh heavily. "Gab! Sabi ko pabayaan mo na ako. " She replied coldly.

"May nagawa na naman ba akong mali?" He asked curiously.
