When I look at you, I stare in wonder.

Your eyes, your smile, your laugh...these are the little things that make me happy.

But I'm only a stranger to you, nothing else.

When will I ever...

"Mads!"

Maddie quickly hid the note she's writing inside her bag, and turned her head to see Bea approaching her, all ready to go to their morning training.

"Let's go?" Bea asked.

"You go on ahead, I'm just fixing my things." Maddie told her.

Her friend looked suspicious though, but she quickly dropped it knowing they don't have much time before their coach might punish them for being late. Bea then went downstairs and Maddie let out a sigh of relief. If she saw those notes again, she'll be teased to no end. It's the last thing she wants to face for this day.

But then again, it reminded her of how happy the feeling is-the butterflies in her stomach every time she sees her, how fast her heart beats whenever she smiles in her direction, or even how she drowns easily in those mysterious, chocolate eyes.

Knowing she'll see her again later, Maddie fixed herself in front of the mirror, grabbed a sticky note and a marker, and went downstairs where an impatient Bea de Leon meets her gaze.

"Took you long enough." She said grumpily.

"Sorry." Maddie said sheepishly, whilst giving a peace sign as an offering.

Bea rolled her eyes. "Come on, you goof. We're going to be late."

They both went inside Bea's car, a Ford Everest, and thanks to her driving skills (Maddie's are horrible, nearly crashed the car twice), it got out safely of its parking space. Throughout the ride, the taller girl seemed excited as she silently cites every landmark they passed. There were 5 overall before they reached their destination, and the car just went past the last one.

By the time Bea stopped the engine, Maddie got out of the car before Bea could even say "We're here."

The latter only laughed. She knows how important this time is to her friend.

"The things that love can do." She murmured to herself, smiling as she walked in the path where Maddie took off.

Inside the gym, everyone seemed to ready themselves for another rigorous morning training. While they looked grim at the fact this is their daily routine, Maddie is the only energetic one from them all.

"Mads sure loves torture." Kim Gequillana, one of their teammates, whispered to Bea.

Bea smiled. "Nah. She's only happy to see someone today."

A confused Kim looked at her. "Who?"

"You'll see."

Moments later, a tall girl arrived at the venue hastily greeting her teammates while her eyes roamed around. She took a deep breath before sitting by the bench, relieved that the coach hasn't arrived yet.

Wearing a maroon shirtsey, she stood out considering the rest had a combination of blues and whites. She's a recent addition to the team, and reports have stated that she just came back after a one year hiatus from volleyball. Their coach grabbed the opportunity to woo her into the team, which the player gladly accepted. (Silently, Maddie prayed that she would actually accept the offer. Just imagine countless nights of praying, hoping she would get in. Heck, Maddie was tempted to walk inside the Quiapo church on her knees just to hear the good news.)
