It was like any other day, cold and chilly here in New York .
I watched as the snow delicately landed in the palm of my hand.
Even through the black mittens I wore, the heat burned through and melted the snowflake almost instantly.
I am a senior in high-school, and only a few months from getting out.
High-school has had it's ups and downs but the one thing I enjoy the most is art. It makes it easier to deal with all of the people there.
This morning I'm sitting out side in my thermals and coats with a nice mug of hot coffee. The crisp air burning my throat with every breath I took. The scenery is beautiful with all of the snow top trees, and frozen lakes.
My house is a small brick house that comfortably fits 4.
As I sit on my porch I grab my sketch pad and begin to start the process of drawing this fantastic scene.
How much prettier could a cold Sunday morning get?
A while later I finished drawing and went inside to strip myself of the damp clothing from all the snow. I walked into my room and began to work on the stack of homework they had given us. It is almost the 3rd quarter in and they felt the need to still pile a bunch of work on us.
"Charlotte!" I heard my mum chirp.
"Yes? " I questioned with full hope in my voice it was worth getting up for.
" School tomorrow make sure you do everything you need." she nagged.
"I know mom " I said a little irritated at the fact that I was trying to accomplish this before she even had to remind me.
I then strolled back to my room and began to dig into the pile of work I needed to do.
--------------------------------------------
I woke up this morning with my face pressed to a psychology textbook. As I attempted to lift my head I was stopped by the pages being stuck to my cheek. God what happened last night? I thought to myself as I peeled the page away from blocking my vision. I peered over to the alarm clock sitting on my desk.
"6:30! " I screamed!
I was going to be late for school if I don't hurry up! I ran to the bathroom and analyzed myself. I didn't see the need to add much makeup other than a touch of winged eye liner to compliment my blue-grey eyes. My hair wasn't cooperating so I took my long brown hair and curled the ends.
I began to pair my outfit with lightning speed. A simple pair of skinny jeans with my favorite black furry jacket a v-neck and some black vans. I sprinted to the full length mirror to do a quick check on my outfit.
I quickly located my phone and checked the time.
6:50 am . School starts at 7:30 and there was no way I was going to make it since there was about a 30 minute drive across town.
I grabbed my purse and jolted to my door and down the stairs. My bedroom was in the small extension upstairs. Once my sister was born we created a small second floor for my own room. I really don't mind though because I have my own porch attached to my room with a beautiful view of the Forrest all around our house.
I scrambled to gather my stuff together and run to the front door. As I ran I was stopped. "Char?" I heard my dad question. With my foot out the front door I turned around quickly.
"Yes?!" I really didn't intend it to come out so rudely but hey, I'm about to be late. I'm never late to school!
" Have a great day honey, and don't forget I'll pick you up at 4 from the art show!" his voice became so cheery.
Oh shit! I totally forgot! The art show is today and my art will be featured in it!
"Okay dad love you!" was all I could manage to spit out before I was practically running down the driveway to my car.
Shit shit shit , I silently cursed to myself as I realized the time.
7 am already!!!? I'm not making it on time. I pulled out of the drive way and sped down the street and began heading to the school.
----------------------------------------------
RIIIIIING *
I was practically panting by the time I was able to reach the doors to my classroom.
I flew the door open and everyone was already in their seats.
My teacher shit me a shocked glance and told me how late I was.
"I'm so so sorry Mrs. Crowley, I honestly am. " I gushed in between trying to catch my breath.
She nodded and let me off with a warning.
I shamefully walked to my seat as all eyes were on me. There were a group of girls snickering in the back as I made my way to any open seat I could see first. One of the girls snickering was named Jessie. She used to be a friend of mine until she decided she was way too 'cool' for me. I never understood where that came from.
I took the empty seat in the back corner of my room. I quickly took a seat and looked around the classroom. There was this really quiet girl who always had her nose pressed into a book on my left her name was Mary I believe. We never really spoke much since I sit on the other side of the room.
I subconsciously glanced to my right and looked at my bag on the floor and noticed the dark black jeans next to me. I trailed my eyes up from the jeans and made eye contact with green emerald eyes.
I couldn't dare look away. I have never seen him before. He held my gaze until I quickly found my pencil to be interesting all of a sudden.
I glanced through my hair to catch a glimpse of him one more time.
He paired is jeans with a pair of black dress shoes and a white t-shirt with a plain gray knitted cardigan.
He was simply breath taking.
I analyzed the way he wore his hair perfectly quaffed to the side with only one single strand of a curl flopping out of place. Once he felt it out of place he ran in hand through his curls and pushed it back. In a matter of one movement his dark brow hair was back into perfect shape.
Who is he? Where did he come from? Is he even human? I began to bombard myself with these mental questions.
I was brought out of my trance when I heard a deep raspy whisper, " Hello gorgeous what's your name?"
My heart felt like it was going to break out of my chest!
"Ch-Charlotte." Was all I could mutter to him barely audible.
He leaned across to my desk and stared at me intently.
"I'm new here. You're my tour guide." He said with such a charming but demanding tone. He whispered it like I didn't have any choice it was already decided for me.
I managed to give him a slight nod and he smirked at me with such intent it made me quiver with chills
He had a bad boy persona and who's to say I didn't like it.
" I'll be waiting for you after class." he leaned in and whispered into my ear. His hot breath fanned over my ear and down my neck, sending shivers down my spine. I suppose he took notice to this and gave me a devilish smirk.
My breathing hitched and I saw a huge grin next to me as he stared at me for the rest of the class.
What have I gotten myself into?
