Just walk in there—that was all I needed to do. Take a few more steps until I was passed that door.
It was only debate class.
"Exactly! It was a fucking foul! He was all over—" suddenly thrown forewords, I tripped into the room, the pain ripping through my side like a mother freaking effer. "—oh shit, my bad." Douglas grabbed the back of my shirt, pulling me up straight in less then a second.
My entire body was in shakes as the sharp movements threatened to rip me apart. "It's 'kay, Douglas." I squeaked out as he left me with a laugh before getting back to his conversation with his friend.
Soft hands replaced the pain as arms surrounded me; holding me up as my legs threatened to fail. "Lean against me. It's okay." His voice cooed knowingly as I whimpered.
I couldn't open my eyes. The pain blinded me as he held me, rubbing soothing circles over my bruise. "Liam." I turned around, burying my face into his chest, trying to hold it together. "Just one more hour." I whispered, struggling for the strength as he held me up by my arms.
For fuck sakes—" another voice spat. "Get a fucking room."
"Ashton." Kaitlyn's whiny voice irked me as I tried to look up.
"He sees your face right now, you might as well tell him what happened." Liam whispered, pulling me down to a seat as he kissed my shoulder. "You're an open book for once." Keeping his hand caressing the hidden bruise on my face, he sat down into the seat beside me.
Opening my eyes, I fought the urge to look back, instead I focused on the warm golden specks decorating Liam's soft brown irises. He looked so sad and worried.
"Are you okay?" He watched me intently, trying to catch anything more about me off. "I should bring you to the nurse—you're in pain."
"Ashton!" Another voice called that spun my head to the door. The blue eyed girl looked at me for a moment before her eyes moved onto the spot where Ashton was. "I need your help." Emma gestured with her head out the door.
"Do I look like I fucking donate to charity?" He snapped, his ego definitely taking a bruising because of me.
It was like all of our progress reversed backwards to day one.
"Fuck off." He swore, making Emma roll her eyes and cross her arms unaffectedly.
"Get your ass up and help me, you knob head. I'm not asking again. God. You're a whiny baby." She spun on her heels and left the room a quiet ghost town as everyone held their breath; waiting for his response.
"What the fuck, Ailie?" Ashton growled ferociously, making me turn in shock. Midnight blue eyes widened as he finally captured my ugly green ones for the first time since earlier that morning. His entire posture stiffened. "Control your friends." He mumbled out weakly as he frantically searched my eyes for answers. "W-what did I do wr—"
"Ashton are you coming, you stupid baby?" Emma interrupted him, making me spin back around and hyperventilate into my hands as Liam massaged the back of my neck silently.
"Whatever." Ashton replied, his anger suddenly dampened to confusion as his chair scratched against the floor, pushing it back.
"Ashton—"
"Don't fucking touch me." He hissed, ripping Kaitlyn's clawing hands off of him as he walked towards the classroom doors just as the teacher walked in, a fumbling mess. He stopped at my desk, slowly leaned down and grasped my bruised jaw. "You'll regret it." His dark eyes burrowed into mine as Liam flexed beside me, getting ready to fight him off of me. "Back up, quarterback. This is between Ailie and me." He warned.
