Of course there is going to be some topics in this story so if you guys are not comfortable reading traumatized gays then bye I guess. I don't condone of drugs btw. So let me start the story... Also I'm sorry if any of you guys are a freshman (no hate on my part I swear)

Sam Adams smoked, out of school of course, but he still smoked. Sam Adams didn't hate it nor love it, he just did it. And he didn't consider it an addiction, no. He just did it when he was thinking about a certain person. This person had long black hair he always kept it in a ponytail, and he was short, around 5'4". Sam tied his auburn hair into a ponytail, puffed a gentle breeze from between his lips, and inhaled. He repeated this process up against the school's garbage can. No one ever walked around to the side of the school so he was safe. Scratching the side of his face he tossed the blunt cigarette to the pavement stepping on it before grabbing his backpack. He made his way to the front of the school, a tall, cream colored, two story, high school. The front steps were bland and the faded nameplate for the high school dripped the title 'Bleached by bird shit and utter hell'. God I hate high school, what a social experiment...

John Adams on the other hand hated smoking. He despised everything about it, the way it made people look 'cool' to the smell drove him nuts. Of course he had to fall long and hard for the only guy in the school who did such an activity. Sam Adams. The name rolled off of John's tongue he thought it was weird that he had fallen for a guy with the same last name however. His friends teased him about it constantly, around everyday to be exact. Shrugging off their puny attempts of hooking him up with Sam he waited to see the kid. Everyday at 7:30 in the morning on the first step of the school's stairs. Sam would walk by, give John a simple tilt of the head and then he was off to theatre. But John was nervous it was the first day of sophomore year and he didn't know if Sam would even stay at the school. He can legally drop out... John examined his fingernails waiting for the familiar stench of cigarettes and cologne to pass by. Lost in thought Johns friend: Charles lee, stepped up behind him.

"Waiting for your boyfriend?"Charles raised an eyebrow, laughing. Contrary to popular belief Charles lee was okay with lgbtq people. He just loved to tease John about his 'dilemma'. Charles actually had a loyal boyfriend himself, an orange haired, short, nerdy boyfriend, who loved musicals and making his point. God. He's amazing...

"He's not my boyfriend Charles, how many times do I-" John snapped knocking Charles out of his thoughts. Charles decided to interrupt him.

"Oh. Look who's here." The infamous Samuel Seabury cautiously maneuvered his way through the parking lot. Known for his presentations directed towards a fellow student: Hamilton, Seabury had grown an unhealthy reputation.Right now though he looked pitiful, his hunched shoulders and arms full of books made him look like a freshmen.

"Dude I thought you were going to cut this hair man." Charles ruffled Seabury's orange, mangy mess.

"Wellll..." Seabury shrugged a blush crept up on his abnormally pale face,

"I never got around to it." He grinned and Charles punched him in the arm.

"You were too busy playing video games weren't ya." Charles laughed and threw his arm around Seabury's shoulders. They approached John again who was waiting patiently on Sam.

"You're still doing this man? How do you even know he is still here?" Seabury poked John in the side but he didn't respond; he was too invested in his 'people watching.'

"I don't know that is why I am waiting." John replied catching the glimpse of auburn hair in the school body.

"Dude this is  sick obsession just ask the guy ou-"

"Shut up Charles! Here he is!" John shoved Charles and Seabury causing them to go silent and train their eyes on Sam.

Sam passed by the front steps about to say hi to his little man when he saw that he was talking with two guys. Sam shrugged and went to pass them up when all three of them trained their eyes onto him like vultures. The fuck?  Sam tried to pass it off cool but he could feel the heat rise to his cheeks as he sent a nod in the direction of John.

He's here! He's here!! John was internally fangirling. And he remembers me!

"Okay you've seen your boyfriend can we go now?" Charles flicked the side of Johns face, his arm still around Seabury.

"Yeah... Yeah! We can go now." John grabbed his schedule and backpack. They begun to make their way up the steps of the school and into hell.

"Jeez you're really in love with that boy aren't you." Seabury chuckled, his arm finding its way across Charles waist.

"And you're getting really chummy with Charles there if I say so myself." John raised an eyebrow and made a quite salty comment, evading the original question. Charles mad a face of disgust:

"Yeah stop dude thats gay." Charles unlatched Seaburys arm from his waist. Seaburys face flashed a look of disappointment but quickly found its way back to a neutral state. Walking into the school not much had changed. The walls still their dull, cream color. And the floors: waxed but still white. The cliché red lockers stood closed while kids talked, abused, and passed by them. The senior football team looked around for freshman to pick on and freshmen girls sought out their senior prey. High school was a battle ground that ninety percent of the population had to experience. John wondered how some people didn't just drop out already if they were not going to college, yet again he liked to see Sam everyday. Charles grabbed John's hand out of frustration apparently Charles was talking to him.

"Did you even hear what I had to say?" Charles snarled, weaving in and out of the crowd with John and Seabury.

"Or were you thinking about Sam again!" Charles almost sounded jealous, though John didn't pester Charles on it.

"I'm sorry, I was actually thinking about dropping out." Charles stopped dead in his tracks and turned around, a look of sheer pain laid blatantly across his face.

"You're dropping out?" Now it was Seabury asking the questions.

"No! No! I mean like why do some people hang around this dump if they are not going to college? I'm not the one dropping out." John realized his mistake and fixed it just before Seabury burst into tears.

"Good! Because I was about to cry." Seabury hugged John which got a few 'Fags!' from a couple guys passing by. Charles coughed, bringing them back to reality.

"Well I have to get to class... I don't know about you guys." Charles dismissed himself, winking at Seabury when he walked off.

"What was that about?"
