I can't remember the exact moment when I stoped hating them. It wasn't until now that I had even thought about it. I had to have been feeling some thing negative towards them for some while now, but when did it stop? Oh, I know it's when they told me about it... or him...whatever you call it. Though it sounds cliche, that's when it changed, all of it changed.

Breathing, deep yet short breaths of anxiety I wove between herds of skirt clad girls. Inwardly disgusted at their clothing choice, then mumbling stupid... your wearing it too. The short skimpy plaid skirts with the once white, now slightly yellow button down tops. The ugly brown shoes that always rubbed against the back of your foot until it made you bleed a little, not forgetting about the tie that you spent months learning how to tie properly.

Looking away from your ugly uniform you shook your head and snapped back into reality before you could run right into the awkwardly placed pole in the middle of the cafeteria. Hearing some muffled giggles from the girls on your left you shuffled as fast as you could to your table. You still didn't know why a school like this would force you to sit with your roommates. Every so often you questioned your parents decision to send you here, out of all places why here.

You had asked for it though, nope, begged for it. You wanted to be the cool kid who studied abroad and thought South Korea sounded like a good idea. But you knew you should have suspected something when they were all too eager to see you leave. This school made you want to go back to your old worn  down school in (c/n), at least there you had some friends. This school was old, older than old. It had once been a church, one of the largest churches around, with bell towers and long passageways. Now it was a melancholy pit of crumbling walls serving as a private school for girls. In the summers the air was dry, it chapped your lips and dried your skin. In the winter frost bite wouldn't be a surprise as you could always see your breath when you took a breath or talked, and if you couldn't you were probably dead.

But I had hopes the first year, sharing a room with 3 other girls was bound to yield a Hollywood movie friendship. But after meeting them all that went into the trash filled with my hopes of traveling and sight seeing. They were and are unmanageable. There was
Mi Seo-Hee, quite yet far from the good type of quiet. She sneaks around and goes from room to room trying to hear gossip, typical wanna be nice girl. Then there's Ka Tam-Hee, two words 'total bitch,' she steals things out of my drawer and gives them back broken or dirty. Lastly Wang Tae-Yun, she was your best friend for about 2 days before telling everyone you had tried to push her down the stairs, she was a total attention hog. The best part... you're stuck with your roommates till you graduate, if you graduate.

Taking a seat on the bench, I quickly draw attention to my self as I awkwardly hit my leg on the underside of the table, shifting the conversation to me. They all eyed me up and down whispering to each other like I wouldn't be able to hear.Tae-Yun, not the best at being quiet, asking " do you think she'll do it?" I looked up and simply said " do what?" Yup that was it, the moment that changed it, me and my big mouth.

She smiled and leaned on the table to get closer to me " have you heard about the monster?" I looked at her like she was bat shit crazy and couldn't help but ask " are you on drugs, or did you actually get shoved down the stairs this time?" She scoffed " see she doesn't believe, so she's definitely not going to do it." " what are you all talking about?" I said beginning to get frustrated with them. She sighed and explained, according to last years graduates who heard it from the year prior's graduates, and so on, there is a monster thing that steals students and if you can't get the thing to like you it'll eat you or some other crazy shit like that.

"So (y/n) do you want to do it, prove the legend wrong and we'll drop this," Seo-Hee edged. Tam-Hee looked like she would blow if I didn't say yes, apparently they had asked others and everyone had said no. "Fine," I said, but before they could celebrate I had my own requests "only if I get the room to my self at least once a week." Seo-Hee frowned," where do you expect us to sleep?" I smiled and simply said "figure it out, get creative."

They must have been pretty desperate because they actually agreed. That night I found my self sitting on the floor wearing some even skimpier outfit than my uniform, if there even was such a thing. According to them I need to look hot to attract 'it.'At one point I really was hoping something would come eat me or take me away so I would get a break from them. But nothing has come and I was sure nothing would come. " 5 more minutes and I'm getting up, my butts falling asleep," I mumbled to my self. After about 2 minutes I gave up on wanting for the other 3 minutes and got up. Dusting my self of I walked to my bed, it was past 1 am and I should have been asleep hours ago.

It happened. I felt it up my leg, it moved from my calf up the center of my back. It caught me in the wonderful state between deep and light sleep? Where you can feel yourself starting to let go and relax. But that feeling, cold and light, kicked me away from the edge, that would let me fall into deep sleep, and shoved me into a state of alertness. I was awake, yet I couldn't open my eyes. I couldn't move or breath let alone comprehend what was going on. But I put all my faith into making 'it' believe I was asleep. " I know your awake," it called. 'Well shit,' I lay still, goosebumps rising from my arms as I feared, yet strangely longed for another word to be said. " you shouldn't ignore me," it coaxed me. It's voice light, sweat, and addicting. Far from the raspy danger filled tone I had prepared my self for. " if you don't respond... you'll regret it," it warned. The only response it gained from me was a muffled unintentional whimper. I couldn't see it, but I knew it heard me and it probably had a smug smirk plastered on its face. "1...2...3...ok," it counted out calmly, with that I expected it to leave yet I was flung off my bed and onto the hardwood floors. " I said you'd regret it," it teased. I was lost for words, for actions. I was going to die in a mini skirt and I just hoped the forensics team analyzing my body wouldn't make fun of the fact that I did a pretty shitty job at shaving my legs.
