Over You

The Truth

Reba and Ronnie have their dinner and sit at the booth at Cantrell's Diner eating a sundae together , Strawberry ice cream with walnuts pecans and chocolate sauce. Ronnie grabs his spoon and puts some of the sundae on his spoon and starts to feed Reba like you would see in the movie " I wish it didn't take us this long to realize we loved each other, we would have been a great couple" Reba smiled at Ronnie " we would be wouldn't we now that I think about it.

Reba checked her phone it was almost midnight " Ronnie what time do you have to be home" Ronnie takes a couple minutes to reply " I don't have any time since I live on my own , why do you need to go home if so I can drive you home". Reba stood up " give me a few minutes I need to call my sister to let her know I won't be home for a while" Ronnie shook his head " I'll be here waiting beautiful" Reba walked out to the parking lot of Cantrell's Diner and dialed Tracy's number.

"Hello"

" Hi Tracy I was calling to let you know I may not be home tonight"

" Reba what's going on normally you're home and in bed by now"

" I had a date tonight and I think we may be going back to his place "

" Reba are you sure that you're making the right decision here"

" Tracy I don't know but my date is waiting for me inside "

" Just please Reba call me if things don't go well I'll come and get you"

" I promise Tracy I will call you"

" I love you I'll talk to you later"

"Bye bye now Tracy I love you too"

Reba ended the call and looked down at her phone and started to cry , she couldn't seem to figure out why she was on a date with a wonderful man a man she used to lust for and crush on. Reba had tears slowly running down her face and no matter how much she tried to wipe away the tears and to breath to calm down nothing was working , Ronnie looked outside the diner window and noticed Reba standing there and not talking on her phone and could see her wipe her face he ran outside to see what was wrong.

Ronnie turned Reba to him and she kept crying in that moment Ronnie gently grabbed Reba's chin and softly kissed her lips , Reba's eyes opened in surprise she was in shock but she was enjoying herself she hadn't been kissed like this since the divorce. " Let me go pay the bill and we can go somewhere and talk beautiful" Ronnie ran into the diner and paid the bill and unlocked his SUV and opened Reba's door and helped her in and he got in his side , he started the SUV and he started to drive to a special place that no one but him knew about.

Ronnie felt close enough to Reba to show her his special place , his ex-wife didn't even know about his special place where he went to cry or to just think. Reba would be the first and the only one , or so he hoped and continued to convince himself she would be and wouldn't show the place to anyone else.
