"What was that all about Bella?" Jackie nudged my shoulder, her "on fleek" eyebrows raised perfectly as she asks this. This simple gesture made me feel like I might just tip over. I was still in a daze from seeing that girl. God, why was I so star-struck by a stranger.
This felt so cliché. She could be a horrible person for all I know.
She could be a criminal or a bitchy girl like the ones we just so happened to have run into at the coffee shop, or she could be a non pineapple on pizza girl which I do not embrace.
It took me a few seconds to fully realize she had asked me a question, another nudge from her pointy elbow making me come back to earth. "Uhh...It was nothing. Just was surprised. You know I hate getting in people's way."
My voice shows off the most collected and calm attitude toward the situation but my heart felt like it was beating so fast. These magic movie moments were always so cheesy. I have no clue what kind of person she is.
Hell most people don't even truly know who I am. I haven't even told Jackie my feelings towards other girls.
Most of the time when she goes on and on about her many assortments of "boyfriends" and options for a quick hook up for me I always just shrug it off and make it seem like it could happen another time. Trust me, it won't. I. Am. Very. Gay.
Only problem is no one knows except for of course me.
I did not plan on coming out to anyone anytime soon so I bit the inside of my cheek and refrained from saying anything else to avoid the subject. I was more then relieved when she brushed it off and began to talk about her next "fling".
She liked to call them her "boy toys" on occasion. I always just let her talk, knowing even though she had many boys in her bed she was still being safe with each one.
"Brody is so cute Bella. He is sweet, loves sports, and even goes horse riding. Plus he has a nice butt. How could you go wrong with a guy who has a nice butt?" She giggles into the palm of her hand and glanced back at me, her hair bouncing with each step she took.
"Oh umm yeah haha, butts. Can't go uh, wrong with guy butts." God could I be any more awkward. I mean, I guess anyone would get this way with talking about other people's backsides.
I shake my head and sigh quietly. Her voice began to only become background static as I focused on the sidewalk beneath my feet.
Finally we arrived at my house. We exchanged our usual hugs and she was on her way down the street to her own house. I could see her fish her phone out of her back pocket. Most likely listening to music.
She was known for her foot tapping during class whenever she had earbuds in.
Ugh. Another afternoon. Another fake smile. Another argument with my step mom, and finally, pasta for dinner which I was actually excited about.
I of course do not have it any worse or any better then anyone else since I have never thought about my life like that, but I think everyone can wish for nicer things.
I grip the fake leather of my shoulder strap, my purse hitting my hip with each step I take as I walk towards the front door. My house was pretty cute if you were to just first glance at it.
There was a nicely kept yard in the front and the back of the house. The grass was always green except for the few times that my step brother Marcus would accidentally break the sprinkler with a soccer ball. Trust me, it has happened more then once.
The yard was surrounded by a white fence which had some patches along it from the paint wearing off. The house itself is a light baby blue, white window frames around the large clear windows. There is a few empty flower pots along the deck in the front and some toys scattered in the back from of course, my messy younger brother.
