Chapter 1 :First Day
"Do I have to go today,I don't even know anybody here!"Sam was nervous for her first day of grade six at her new school."You will be fine honey.it's not like you are gonna be the only new girl."We'll,she was wrong . Sam was the only new girl. She did not enjoy her new school. Then again,she did not like her old school.The teachers were mean and vicious,the girls were so cliquey that they would not sit near her within five metres and she was humiliated in front of the boy she had a crush on.No,she could not stay there for another year.At least here she could not be reminded of it ,or so she thought .
"Miss Livingston,Miss Livingston!""wha?"She was so caught up in remembering her old school that she forgot she was in maths with Mrs Lombanini , the strictest teacher in the grade. "Miss Livingston, would you care to join us. We are going to learn a new section in Maths and if you do not want to be behind then I suggest you take a seat!"Okay,I guess she wasn't known to be the strictest teacher in the grade for nothing!She took a seat at the back where there were three girls sitting and sat behind the shortest one.They turned around.the tallest one said"Hi I'm Lucy ,"She pointed to the medium girl,and said"And this is Jessica,"She pointed to the shortest girl,and said"This is Alexia.""I'm Sammantha but you can call me Sam for short."
After Maths, she had English with Miss Aires.She was so happy to have a new girl in the class that she practically jumped off her chair!After she explained the rules to follow when you are in her class ,we started with creating our front cover for our creative writing book.She said ,"Now class,I want you to draw and write about yourself.You will be given five weeks to complete your front cover and then I will collect them . It is for 10% of your English mark this term so I suggest you do it nicely.You may begin."Sam didn't know where to start.After doing one or two rough copies on a piece of exam pad she started.
Break!She hadn't even thought about where she was going to sit or who she was going to eat with.She guessed that nobody would want to sit with her so she sat right at back in the corner of the big field.She was just finishing her apple when Lucy,Jessica and Alexia sat down next to her.Luckily a guy called Will and a girl called Cathryn quickly came and grabbed her before they could talking to her."Let go of me !"she screamed.Once they were out of sight of them,they let her go."What was that all about ?"exclaimed Sam."We didn't want them to 'brain wash ' you!They. Are the meanest and most popular girls in the school!"said Will."They only care about themselves."added Cathryn."I'm William. But you can call me Will.""And I'm Cathryn but you can call me Cat."At that moment Sam knew she had made her first friends.
Now she was in Afrikaans with Mrs Harper.Everybody liked her ,but Sam didn't know why .One minute she would be all nice and sweet ,and all mean and vicious the next.So far, Sam liked Miss Aires the best.She was nice and sweet and caring.Mrs Lombanini was all mean and rude and was very stuck up.She was always saying "Oh,I could do all those problems in seconds!" Or "That does not look like a carefully shaded fraction!"She went around the school and introduced herself to all of the teachers in the school.Will and Cat showed her where the bathrooms and the locker rooms were.Then they showed her the tuck shop and the library. They also showed her the hub and told her all the rules for each teachers class and all the do's and don'ts in the school.
