"If you're reading this, I, Erik Donoven, have died. Somehow, someway. I'd hope you didn't go on from this...It's rather depressing.

Well, if you're still reading, you must be mighty stubborn, because most people would just...Stop reading. Or maybe they wouldn't. Who knows. But, still, you're either very courageous, very stubborn, or just...curious.
Now, about that first part. 'somehow, someway' isn't exactly as mysterious and thought-provoking as you may think. No, in reality, the crushing weight of stress, and school, and society in general (I call them them the Three Suicide Serum S's) has brought me to this end. I don't know what the police will tell you, but if you have found this journal (diary? suicide note?) I should be long gone. Or maybe it's only been a few days. Maybe you are a police officer, who has found this, or a pre-teen who has stumbled upon my house [Which should be abandoned and rotting, just like in the mystery novels] and have found this. Maybe the writing is smudged. Maybe the pages are so frail that you won't even be able to turn past this page without the whole book crumbling to dust. Or maybe you're just an average joe. Who knows? I sure don't. Just use your imagination. If you aren't a pre-teen or a police officer or even an average joe, just pretend you are. Or don't. And keep reading. After all, I must have you pretty hooked, huh? So eager to hear of how I died, or how old I was, or what pushed my limits (That is, if the media hasn't already leaked all of that information.) Well, I don't know, maybe the next page will tell you. Maybe the one after that. Maybe the very last page in this journal will tell you. We'll just see how long this lasts, see how long I can go before my boundaries are broken. Well, keep on reading, I guess. You've made it this far."
